Happy to say that I sold two speculative poems (a haiku and a tanka) to Grievous Angel , a new pro-paying flash and poetry imprint of Urban Fantasist. From query to submission to sale took about 4 days, so if anyone's got some flash or speculative poetry lying around, get it while it's hot! wotf007...

Wow, I need to get over here more and spend less time simply perusing the Jibber Jabber topics!

Congratulations, Ishmael! Fantastic!

And congratulations to all the others I've missed while away from this particular topic. So many wonderful success stories here.

I had a blast at WorldCon this year, and a huge part of that was meeting all the wonderful WotF people--forum members, lurkers, etc. Everyone I met was friendly, interesting, and truly wonderful to hang out with. When do they decide/open the next lot of themes? I'm not really feeling any of the remainder for this year. They do say that's when a professional writes his / her best stuff. So let's all try writing down a first sentence on Family Traditions and see where it goes. Actually I wrote my last piece o...

Re: WorldCon Roll Call

I'll be going. I enjoy WorldCon, however, I enjoy World Fantasy much more--simply because it's smaller (1,000 or so people) versus 4-6k, plus it's more publishing focused...however, this year it's in the UK and still not sure if I'm going. Anyway, I'll be at WorldCon. Annie's advice is sound. Panels...
