Re: Jibber Jabber - Q4 - Volume 33

I can finish whatever changes I decide the story needs by Friday since it's only a couple of pages and it has been written already. Now to have someone look it over, at least for the nitpicks LD ... I've been blessed with a HUGO nomination for editing and as a former long-term ASIM editor, slush re...

Re: Am I doing submissions backwards?

The only advise I could offer is to keep writing new stories - they should get better if you learn from your flaws - and keep submitting to markets. listen to the feedback you get and let that steer you.

Looking at a new story for this Q, so I have 450 words if anyone has the time to review it and pass judgement.

Thanks in advance, more than happy to swap upwards to 1K also.

Hi everyone! I submitted 5 months ago. It's only 1,000 words long. It's still mark "received." What does the category change to when they read it? Does it go to straight rejection or under review as Asimov Magazine? ICarpoz, I wouldn't worry ... have a piece out with Analog that siting at...

Second reader story exchange

I've just finished a story collaboration with a fellow WOTF member, and we've ended up with a 6400 word story that is need of a second reader. Don't need a major in depth crit, more after higher level views/thoughts of the story, although the first 450 crit comments are always excellent too. Happy t...

Re: A 1K exchange

I have two 1K stories I'm trying to expand into longer stories in the 4-5K range. One is a fantasy that I sent to two only two flash markets and got two glowing personals from, but complained of the abrupt ending and that it should be longer to flesh the true story out. The other is a SF and I've n...

I'm at 44 days with Shimmer - but I don't have high hopes. Apparently I was sorted into the Weird Tales pile because, unable to come up with a better genre, I categorized my story as a weird tale, so there it sits. MAYBE it's gone further by now, but I think it unlikely. Not because I don't think m...

Not ranting, it is what it is: I had an Asimov story out at 80 days, and got a form rejection *sigh* I did have some hope for something more, but they've been busy... but after 19 days I did get a personal rejection from Shimmer, my first sub there, and I have to say that it was nice. Two rejections...
