Re: V34 Q1 Analysis and Discussion

My S-F is in my signature if you're interested. Dave's advice was to cut the last 3 pages. I did, and it sold next time out. I think your list is great. Yeah, there's lots of advice out there, and one can get lost in it, but that's what experimentation is all about. One piece of advice can come in a...

Re: Wanting to Do Well But Not Win...?

I have felt the same way. I like some stories better than others, but if I submit them, I want to win with them. Eyes on the prize, and all that. Whatever it takes to get me to LA. Plus, I've never disliked a story I've submitted. Of all my submissions, the one I most wish won was my first finalist....

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q2 - Volume 34

I'm finding it so hard to write this quarter! I've been experimenting with short short stories (usually mine are 10,000 plus words) and fantasy this quarter, which I've never tried before. Consequently, I've had two stories get ripped apart on Critters. So...yeah, not feeling great about my writing...

One of my favorite things about seeing new board members (and in this case, a pleasant flood of new board members) is that any new name, anyone can reach finalist at any time.

Just like Jeremy!

Re: Contest Eligibility

I believe it's "upon publication of your 4th (dis)qualifying pro pub". Not your 3rd. This is an important distinction, and I'd say worth a follow up e-mail. If you sub on Dec 31, and your 4th pro story is pubbed Jan 1, that entry counts, but you can not sub on Jan 2. Again, this is my unde...

So I'm down for 450, or 1k.

PM me if that's the most you can do.
