Re: Four in Thirty-Five (4 in 35!)
Just wanted to thank Dustin for coming up with this challenge. It's the only reason I pushed through that final quarter, and man did the results give me some wind in my sails. So THANK YOU for making us work those writing muscles! You are awesome! If my claim to fame is merely to have helped others...

Re: Discussion: Q1 Volume 36
Amos, I'll probably still be around for Magic in the 4th, v 36. Ha! I really want to get in this Q. I got a silver for 2/35, then an R. That's my year. Not very satisfying. I've got a great story that just needs time and attention. And I've got three months. Fingers crossed! p.s. Thanks Gruffbane. I...

R for me this time.
At least Kary liked my story opening!
I admit it wasn't my best, but I love the idea. Might expand on it someday...

Re: Discussion: Q4 Volume 35
Hi all. A quick question for off of you that have been published in the WOTF annual books. How different was your original story from the final published version? Did you find your stories required a lot of polishing/revision/editing? Or were there only minimal polishing edits??? (I'm gaging the st...

Re: Discussion: Q4 Volume 35
I'm working on revising a story I'd started on, the front 450 of which I bounced off Dustin a while back. Got swept up in other things, but kept thinking about his feedback, and the resulting revision (killing a transition) restaged the story and made the whole premise a lot more interesting... So ...

Glenn,
Yes, sometimes Joni can't reach someone or a phone # has changed... In my previous quarter, M.T. Chambers didn't know he was a finalist until after the list came out. He was backpacking in Asia!
However, I do strongly believe that the 8 finalists are picked. When we see one, Joni has them all.

Very cool list! I started out OK, but faded in the latter half of the (sci-fi) list. I think I will go get Neuromancer. Seems time. Interesting about The Shining. I wonder why. I've been discussing "character" again with a writer friend, and it seems that might fall under that category? An...

This article makes me want to submit again.
I take rejections pretty hard, (read: personally) which I know six ways from Sunday that I'm not supposed to do, but I do anyway.
But reading this helps.

If I start the thread, I post the dates in big letters/numbers.
Check the first post in the quarterly threads.
It is confusing at first, but you'll get used to it.
Or maybe you wont have to.
