Re: Discussion: Q4 Volume 35

Wow it's been a while since I posted here, but just wanted to pop in and say I've just submitted for the first time in over a year! Granted, it's only a revised story, but my hope is to keep going and at least submit another revised story for Q1. Still a long ways away from being better health wise,...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q4 - Volume 34

Well I know I'm not going to make it this quarter. Too many unexpected health problems that I'm still trying to deal with. Didn't even have the time or energy to write these last few months. Hopefully I can get back on track for the next quarter. It's a whole new year with 4 new chances to make it t...

Got a call this morning with no caller ID which has never happened to me before. But....they left no message so it couldn't have been Joni. Still, I did not need that extra added twitching!

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q3 - Volume 34

Seen on Facebook: So, this quarter of Writers of the Future I had 15% more stories than ever before, but 20% more good ones competing for a finalist slot. You folks are gonna make me work! Good luck to everyone still waiting! May the odds be ever in your favor! wotf015 I don't expect I'll make it m...

Re: ILLUSTRATORS' Q & A

Hi Yinny and welcome to the forum! Always nice to see another illustrator here as it can be very rare! I wish I could give you more insight into how results on the illustrator side of the contest works, but it's been very difficult to see any kind of pattern. The last time I submitted I never heard ...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q3 - Volume 34

I'm in! Feels good to be back after a year of no subs! Hopefully my dry spell is over and I can move on to the next story. Would really love to win with this one but I'll have to get through the twitching first. Ah it's all coming back to me now!

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q3 - Volume 34

Well after missing the last 3 quarters and after working on this story for over a year I am happy to announce I have finally completed the first draft! And I already submitted my art to the Illustrators contest last week! Oh yeah I'm back!!!

Re: NEW USERS! INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!

Never got a chance to pop in here and say welcome to all the new forum members! I'm so glad the forum was finally fixed because it was so dead around here (but a good kind of dead as people won the contest or pro'd out). Still it's nice to see new faces and make new friends - just the kind of thing ...

Re: Introducing the New Illustration Workshops in 2017

I agree with Dustin I would love for this forum to become more active on the Illustrators side! As one of the rare members here who submits to the Illustrators I've always found it a challenge to find any advice, tips or experiences from fellow artists. I hope now that the sign up glitch on the foru...

Re: Almost Success - The "Mixed Feelings" Thread

Ok either C.C. Finlay is some kind of power reading machine that plows through every story entry, or he must have really taken a liking to my work. I just got my second personal rejection from F&SF this month. I really hope this is a good sign, and he doesn't just read and critique all entries. ...

Re: Almost Success - The "Mixed Feelings" Thread

Well I'm pretty excited. Just got a personal rejection from F&SF, and it's my first personal outside of Writers of the Future! I know it's technically still a rejection, but it makes me feel like people are finally starting to take notice of my writing.

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

I remember looking into this, seeing as how it happened a month before I joined the forum. I went back and tried to find what thread or post had more activity, thinking some crazy party had gone on here. But I found nothing. Usually things peak around here when resutls come out or the award show nig...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

I started lurking months before, but this quarter was my first entry in the contest. Only 2 volumes have come out since then, but it feels like I've been here forever. I thought my first post was actual in this thread but turns out it was my second post. My first was in the introduction thread. My s...

Re: Five Minute Rant

Thanks Rebecca! At least everyone here has been so nice and congratulated me! I think other people that aren't writers just don't get it. They see writing as a chore, and can't see why I'd want to continue it. Oh and I can't believe I forgot to mention my favorite line that someone gave me after I t...
