So they are sending other responses besides just Rs,

So congrats to the HMs and SHMs there seems to be a fair amount of them so far which is as it should be here now for some to get further.

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - Volume 35

Hmm, the other day I was thinking of this next quarter. I am working on the story for it. I may or may not use. Actually I also had the thought to use a flash tale I write recently and add to it. With more details in the back story and deeper into the MC's mind and something else maybe so.

Re: Where do you get your inspiration?

Hmm, everywhere? Pictures are a major inspiration. Other stories, even novel length ones. Sometimes an idea will just pop into my head. Usually when that happens it is one scene and I need to do what led up to that scene and what comes after, if anything. Rare times a dream. Rare also is sometimes a...

Re: Go for the novel? Or stick with the short story?

I do both, at the same time. Of course some have less time than I do, and some would rather just do one or the other, but I have enough time each quarter to work on both. Sometimes the stories get put down for a while to finish the novel and also the other way around.

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q4 - Volume 34

So... it's Thursday! The first Thursday I've felt like we might have a chance of seeing results. Probably way too soon, right? Ha ha! This is probably one of those things where you're hoping you DON'T see an email this early, right? Because the rejections are probably the first ones to get notified...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q4 - Volume 34

Well, I say congrats to the one who has submitted after five years.

And to everyone else.

There are some good writers here who know what Dave has stated he wants so someone should get in, at least a bunch of semi-finalists from here.

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q4 - Volume 34

Redone opening and all. I like the story and have already made it as good as I could. The opening is now better and shorted than the original one. I have solid descriptions and action. But so did I last time. And again this is my writing so...

Okay, I am finished. I may take one more look at the connecter from the old body and the new opening just to make sure I didn't miss anything, maybe go over one more scene while I am at it but that's it.

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q4 - Volume 34

Well I know I'm not going to make it this quarter. Too many unexpected health problems that I'm still trying to deal with. Didn't even have the time or energy to write these last few months. Hopefully I can get back on track for the next quarter. It's a whole new year with 4 new chances to make it ...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q4 - Volume 34

Okay, wrote out the new opening and did a bit of revising than connected the body to it. I hope that the rest of the story doesn't need much work-this time-as I think. I like this story, I think the basic idea is good and entertaining, I hope my writing agrees and is up to it. I would read it if wri...

Okay decided on what story. Not any of the ones I had been thinking about referenced in earlier posts. But for some reason this one just popped into my head and I started rewriting the opening. I have two versions of the opening and now this third one. Evidently the one I like most is too slow and t...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q4 - Volume 34

Wwwwwwiii Now I am not sure of two stories-I like both of them. One is SF and one is Fantasy which is all I will say about that. There were two more. One might cyberpunk but I would have to lengthen it and add inner turmoil. That last might not be bad anyway. The other one I am still not against but...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q3 - Volume 34

I submitted to Q3 back on the 28th of May. I like the story, my only problem is that I like it less than my Q2 submission and that one ended with a SHM. So I have my doubts that this story is going to win this for me. But then again.... who knows? These days I always doubt my stories. This one has ...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q4 - Volume 34

No work on it yet. Even during my two week writing vacation I did nothing on WotF. I did finish a novel-now to find an copy editor who doesn't charge too much. But then again I did have a beta reader look it over. And worked on the revision of another novel, did 7 crits for critters, a few flash and...

we have the desk computer in a spare bedroom with a nice computer desk and comfortable chair. I do most of my writing there, to here. But at times I also use the kitchen table and my laptop. Re: Jibber Jabber - Q4 - Volume 34

There is one story I started a few months ago and just started to work on again, but I don't know how long-short story, novella, novelette or book. At l...
