Re: Discussion: Q1 Volume 37
So now to decide which story or which new one. Dave likes actions but it looks like a specific type of action even though he has stated it doesn't have to be violence. Not to mention a clear setting in the opening. Something different-for me anyway. Which doesn't leave much. There is one genre I hav...

Re: Discussion: Q1 Volume 37
As I said on another post long time since I have been here. But I will be trying another story. I probably will be almost late getting it sent in since I am doing NaNo this year.

I just remembered I had a story still in. Couldn't remember which one. Still can't. But whatever one it was, it failed completely again.

And now to redoing, at least the opening, of a SF story about a chef. I need it for an anthology about speculative food, and to work on a short tale about an Apocalypse. Need to put some danger in it or effort of some type. Then I hope to write one about outdated tech that may or may not be working....

Re: Discussion: Q4 Volume 36
Okay, mine is done. I will be sending it in tomorrow or Monday. Tomorrow will be a bit busy with a couple of different things to do. Ohhh, boy some major changes: rewrite first thousand words or so, changed sentences, deleted at least a 1500 words probably more like at least 1750, moved things aroun...

Re: Moon's SUPER SECRET Bonus Challenge! Vol. 36
Hmm, the deep emotional journey might be one of my problems. Certain people around here can tell you other problems, I always seem to forget one or three techniques I know. I work at the emotion as I see pros do, but how deep it goes is another matter. Did you get Don Maas' book THE EMOTIONAL CRAFT...

Okay, think I am done. I have time to keep it a few days then look it over again. I rewrote the first 900 words or so, condensed some of it. I deleted over 1500 words, redid some sentences, replaced paragraphs and made it better. I hope.

Started the revision of my story. Two nice people said they would critique it. Plus I am adding some of my own changes. Even deleted a couple of sentences so maybe this week I will have it done. Not to mention time to send out some other stories also. I am assuming the last one out was a rejection o...

Re: Revising an HM to make it a Winner
I got a rejection earlier in the year but I felt pretty strongly about the story so I gave it a solid revision and submitted it for Q4. We shall see what that brings! As I have said I am doing the same for the same reason. I have four stories I feel good about even though they never got a whole rea...

I usually send in a new story but at times a revised one-like this next month. I think that includes two HMs. If so they did worse the second time.

He does give out Honorable Mentions, SHMs, semi finalists for those who don't reach the finalist stage. So far if he doesn't like a story no one does. I have heard the statement about it just not being a good fit for wotF but its been too long, that is no comfort for me. I have sent almost every ty...

I decided to try another story since this one seems to be one I sent in twice. And I have a third story in mind if this second one turns out to be totally rejected twice.

Hmm, evidently I have already sent the story I thought of using, twice. I must like that story. Even with critiques it got no where-twice. So I decided to do a different story. Still an older one I sent in once-I think only once-hmm now I am not sure. Anyway need new readers.

Got my Q4 tale done. Months ago. I already submitted it. Months ago. Nothing, yet I still like it and think it could fit in quite easily. But after, hopefully, a couple of critiques I can Improve it. Q-4 story that most probably could use some help
Got mine done already for 36 Q 4. Actually it was a story I sent in earlier but I like it, think it mighty fit in and so I will try it again. But it does need critiquing Somewhere around 6,500-ish. I will critique one of yours or two half sizes.
