Re: Success!

Thanks again to everyone. One of the coolest things I've discovered, getting into this community over the last couple years, is how generally friendly and helpful writers are. Maybe I'm just finally amoungst my people, but it's a great thing to be part of.

Thanks!

Re: Success!

The anthology including my first published story is now available on Amazon. It's an anthology of pirate stories with speculative elements. Coolest part is, it also includes my fiance's first published story. wotf007 http://www.amazon.com/LocoThology-2013-Fantasy-Science-Fiction/dp/0988528991/ ~Scott

Re: Science Fiction and Fantasy on TV.

Yar, LD, he is the villain. The unnamed villain. The unnamed-for-no-good-reason villian. I'm becoming mightily disillusioned with J.J.Abrams. He's a master of suspense, but never seems to be able to provide satisfying answers to his titillating questions. The guy's work is all promise, no payoff. w...

Re: Five Minute Rant

I need to remember to stop asking my husband to read my stories. He really pisses me off. Every time. I hear you. It cuts too deep from that close! I'd been telling my fiancee that she better start with at least one good thing when she opens her mouth after (and during) reading. Then one day, I was...

Excellent story. Flash typically isn't my thing, but I really enjoyed yours. Well done!

I'd like to do a 450 swap with anyone that's interested.

Either that, or a full swap. Mine's a smidge over 6600. And it's a new one, not one i've traded before.

Let me know,

Critique Needed

I'd like to re-work my R from Q2 for Q4. It's a 17,000 work dark fantasy tale. I'm most interested in ideas on making it more DF / slush friendly.

If you write shorter, I'd be happy to take a look at a couple since mine's so long.

PM if interested.

Re: NEW USERS! INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!

Are you saying you set aside your novel until you have improved your craft? I say go ahead and use it to improve your craft. Writing your favorite piece will keep you excited. You can always put it away and rewrite later on. (I'm a big fan of the rewrite, while others, not so much.) I'm talking abo...

Re: NEW USERS! INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!

Hello, I suppose it's time to step out of the shadows and introduce myself as well. I'm from Columbus, OH and have submitted to Q2 and Q3 for this volume. I've made one other post on these forums, regarding DW's formulaic rule about naming your character in the first 2 paragraphs (which, along with ...
