Q2 exchange

Hello Everyone!

I'd like to trade stories with those who are interested. My story is a bit on the long side, at roughly 8,000 words and science fiction, so I'll understand if it's a bit too long for people. If you're interested, please PM me. Thanks!

Re: Mine is bigger...

That's what he said? wotf002 Sorry I couldn't help myself. Ok so you're asking a lot of questions here. I personally strive to finish the critique even if the story isn't working for me. But I suppose everyone is different. I do try to put myself in an steel-hearted editor's shoes and try to determi...

Re: Sci-Fi and Fantasy Books You Enjoy?

One of my favorites is the Revelation Space trilogy by Alistair Reynolds. It's a gothic space opera with some really awesome technology. I love the way it's written and the setting is awesome. You should check it out if you haven't.

Re: Q3 Story swap

lol at the risk of sounding desperate here, if 8,000 words is too much for you, I don't mind if you read only the equivalent length of your story (eg. if you only wrote a 2,000 word story, you only have to read 2,000 words of mine). I am trying some different things with this current story. I have t...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

lol yeah, Korean is difficult. In some ways it's totally different from Indo-European languages. Most of the time subjects are dropped off (and unlike Greek) the verbs don't change based on the subject either, plurals are often just assumed, and the language changes based on the status of the person...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

Ah I miss the days of learning ancient Greek. While it seemed hard at the time, it was a lot of fun and it's a language that makes a lot of sense. Korean on the other hand.... wotf015

Re: NEW USERS! INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!

Yeah, Lucian's a lot of fun. I was first exposed to him in college when I was learning ancient Greek. He and Diogenes are probably my favorite ancient Greek thinkers. I've always thought it was awesome how Lucian satirized the subject of history by writing what amounted to science fiction. In some w...

Q3 Story swap

Hello everyone,
I'm in desperate need for feedback on my story. As I live in Korea, it's hard to find readers who can read English like a native. The story is roughly 8,000 words. I'd love to trade and return the favor. If interested, just send me a pm and we can go from there. Thanks! wotf007

Re: NEW USERS! INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!

Hello WOTF world. My name is Matthew Chambers. As you can probably tell from my avatar/name, I have a soft spot for the ancient Greco-Roman world. I have a Master's degree in Ancient Roman history and I pine for the good old days of pagan temples, cohorts of legionaries, and treatises of ancient phi...
