Re: Fyrecon Master Class & Online Con Scholarships
I have a general question regarding this convention... If you are registered does that mean you have access to all that is offered during that time period? Or is an ala carte type deal? I could benefit from all the writing advice I can get from Farland, Shoemaker, and Moon for sure!

Re: Wulf Moon's SUPER SECRETS Workshop & Challenge!
I think I'm in Wulf Moon's Fyrelite Online Master Class. I saw Wulf's recent facebook post that indicated one more seat remained and felt an impulsive tug. I got the following message: "Thank you for registering for Fyrecon 4. You will receive a confirmation and receipt email shortly. Sincerely...

Congrats to the HM's, Silver HM's, and semifinalists! I guess it's too early to hear from the finalists. Commiserations to the Rs, I know how you feel. I'm impressed by those of you who are being proactive instead of climbing under a rock for awhile (that's the way I responded at least for a while. ...

Thanks, I'm doing my best to hang on to my sanity and be productive. Tough, though. By the way, I'm rooting for you as I'm aware you've been a regular contest entrant for a long time now. I'm sure your time is coming soon! Good luck Dustin!

Re: Wulf Moon's SUPER SECRETS Workshop & Challenge!
Hey... I have been hit with some pretty heavy personal life crap. I started out with all kinds of enthusiasm about entering Quarter 3 and 4 since I do get the summers off. HOWEVER... on my end things are spiraling out of control. First my Dad died and now my mom is in the hospital (advanced dementia...

Re: Wulf Moon's SUPER SECRETS Workshop & Challenge!
Just finished the online workshop yesterday so I'm way behind on the assignments and challenges here. I had to skip some of the practicals [family issues; Mom with dementia], but intend to employ them to sharpen the story I began around the trapped in a box challenge from a while ago. I'm hoping to ...

Hi Guthington: Welcome to our group. I just wanted to say your curriculum vitae is MOST impressive. Most likely, you're a modest person, but when anyone holds TWO Master's Degrees - a Master of Arts, and a Master of Science, AND A DOCTORAL DEGREE, wow! I have no doubt your expertise in biology when...

Re: Wulf Moon's SUPER SECRET Workshop & Challenge!
I've been a silent lurker for a while. So far I've only had rejected stories of those I've submitted to wotf contest. I've only entered about three times and those times are far apart. I'm hoping to enter in Quarter 3 and 4 since it is summer and I'm a professor and am smart enough to NOT teach sum...

Re: Discussion: Q1 Volume 36
I have a question that may seem on the newb side. Does anyone ever enter both writer and illustrator contests in the same quarter? What I'm thinking of entering for Q1 (assuming I have the time of course) has a nice visual that is tempting to try to illustrate. Follow up... has anyone ever won both ...

Re: Discussion: Q4 Volume 35
Just my opinion, but it seems to me if they want to see shorter stories, perhaps the word count limit in the rules should be lowered to, say, 10K max? I hope not. And I think not...this limit was set long ago. I like long stories, it's what I also write. Darci Stone's story is a good example of why...

Anyone else feel ready to submit? I don't know how much more I want to tweak this story. I kinda want to submit it now. I know exactly that feeling. You've spent lots of time on the thing. Lived with it. Tweaked it. Edited it. And while once you were in love with the story now you just want it off ...

Hello Kristy, Sorry to hear about your registration issues. I spent the better part of a morning (a week or so ago) trying to figure out avatars.
