ACK!!! *faints dead away* *phone rings* I'm not dead. I'm right here. I've got it. Yes? Joni? *angrily hangs up on telemarketer number 352* The real question: does Joni call finalists on the weekend? Yes, she definitely does. I've had calls Saturday afternoons, Friday night at 8 o'clock, almost any...

Re: Discussion: Q4 Volume 36

Starting to lose hope for this quarter -- no calls yet There's still time yet. Don't lose heart. Joni has to match up various placements with anonymous submissions, so it takes time. Plus, it seems like she prefers to get everything sorted and send it all out at once these days. (Makes sense.) Yeah...

The twitching is getting out of control. On Friday I had a spam caller hit me and I almost crashed my car, haha.

Anyone else feeling it? How many of you have subbed to Q1 already?

Ha! Ha! It's been over 15 years since I've had Ben and Jerry's. Though, I still wake a nights dreaming of phish food and drooling all over my pillow case. It's only been in the last years that Ben and Jerry's has been available in NZ. But I refuse to pay $14 for the tiny scoop. In other news, I'm p...

You are up most of the night after the gala. Joni brings in celebratory food and drinks into her suite at the hotel and you burn up some of that adrenaline chatting with winners and writer and artist guests staying at the hotel. We got calls from the front desk because it gets loud and had to take ...

Re: Discussion: Q4 Volume 36

In truth, she is your gatekeeper you must get past to get to Dave, the coordinating judge. She looks at the first page or two to see if you write professionally and have created a story worthy of the anthology and worth Dave's time to read. Fail to impress Kary, and your story is rejected. Kary has...
