Re: Success!

Well, I finally get to post a success! I made my very first sale! Joni called me November 15 to let me know that my Q1 Finalist story was selected as one of the published finalists for V33. The other PF and I got word today that we can finally talk about it publicly today, so since I've been burstin...

I can't remember if I've asked this or only thought about asking. I know folks have submitted rewrites, and some have had pretty good success with that. Just how rewritten are the stories you submit?

PM Stuck in Outbox?

I've got a PM here on the forums that I tried to send, but it's in my outbox. I assume this means it has not sent to the individual I was attempting to contact. However, it shows as "Sent Oct 31." The weird thing is, when I click into my sent items folder, it does not appear there. So did ...

Re: Persistent Visions

They claimed--in Twitter conversation with a few of us--that they weren't related to specific manuscripts but were meant to be a light-hearted list along the lines of Strange Horizons' . It certainly doesn't come across that way though, does it? Interesting. No, it didn't come off that way, and whi...

Check out http://thegrinder.diabolicalplots.com/. It's a great way to search for markets for your stories and keep track of where you've submitted.

Well, it was CoW, but it wasn't a form as they talked specifically about my piece. They did include the form bit ("list of recommend venues on our website under Markets") at the end, but prior to that they suggested I submit to one of the sister markets.

Yet another etiquette question...

Etiquette Question: Responding to Emails from Magazines

I know that we should never respond to a rejection, not even to thank them and wish them well, but if you receive an email stating that your story is being held for closer consideration, would it also be inappropriate to respond with a quick thanks?
