No solar eclipse for me, alas, but I hope it's amazing! wotf008

I'd be very happy to have a look at your query letter. I don't know if I have something specific to exchange right now, but I might take you up on the offer when my Q4 entry is ready, if that's all right.

I already use Slack every day, so I'd be up to try it, I suppose, if there was a group interested.

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q4 - Volume 34

I've got a great story idea for this quarter. A mix of two eclectic interests, that may well be nobody's cup of tea. Dave might not like it. But I hope I will like it. After struggling to maintain momentum in the last two quarters, I think it's time I started writing for myself again. I figure there...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

I finally put my submission info in my signature. It feels weird. wotf005 wotf017 Pretty impressive list. I'd love a long string of Rs, myself. Or a long string of anything. Maybe I'll put my stats in, with my grand total of two results... But I feel the pressure to find some kind of inspirational ...

Re: Progressive Chunk Exchange

I think I had a false start on getting one of these going. Is anyone out there still interested in a story exchange, progressive or otherwise? My recent HM has left me realizing that I desperately need to get my stories peer reviewed before sending as my beta readers apparently just "like my s...

Re: Success!

I signed the contract and the editor said it was safe to share, so here we go: Mad Scientist Journal put out a call for classified ads and are planning to publish my submission in March 2018. It's a 180ish word fictional classified ad, so I'm not sure if that falls into flash or an even smaller cat...

Re: Success!

So, being rather new to this (read: completely new to this), when is it appropriate to post about sales? When ink is dried on a contract? When a publication date is set? Something else entirely? Also, what if the market isn't a pro market? I've heard at least one person give the advice not to even ...

Re: critters.org Manuscript Notifications

I have another story in the queue this week - "After the Escape." It is unchanged from when it won Silver Honorable Mention in Q1 (So, amy has already given me a critique. I just wanted some more opinions before I dive into story surgery.) Cool. I'll take a look after I finish my Q3 submi...

I guess you shall know the new generation of forumites by their witty and inventive, er, signatures, rather than by their shiny avatars.

Oh, and hi, Michael!

Welcome, Clive! I'm in the UK too. Do our newer members all know about the Submission Grinder ( https://thegrinder.diabolicalplots.com )? You can record your submissions to various mags (anonymously) and track how long it takes to get a response against the average in the database. WotF has its own ...

Re: NEW USERS! INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!

Hello! Like several others, I've been lurking for a while, unable to register until now. Wohoo, sigh-ups are working again! I'm Hannah, and I'm from the UK. I like reading and writing sci fi (and occasionally fantasy), especially Orson Scott Card and Ursula K. Le Guin, and am pretty new to the conte...
