Aw, shucks, Alicia. You are sooo sweet. ***hands over a kleenex, then gets another for myself*** I really appreciate that. The afterglow still hasn't faded. I expect it'll remain for a very long time. Everyone here has been so kind. I'm really really gonna miss entering each quarter. You're welcome...

Hey Wulf, Thanks for the congrats. And yes, you're right, I am Topanga Canyon. I had no idea that I was the subject of a cautionary tale told by Dean Wesley Smith in his workshop about the importance of not giving up. I wrote 47 stories between 1986 and 1992. I was getting personal rejections, but ...

This is off-topic I realize, but I got my copy of WotF Volume 34 from Amazon today. Re: Four in Thirty-Five (4 in 35!)

1 down, 3 to go... Quarter 2's rough draft is done, just needs some reworking. Quarter 3's mostly written, just needs an ending -- pesky endings. And Quarter 4's notes are done, and the outline has been written. I plan to have all three done by the end of March, then my time will be freed up for nov...

Hey all, I heard a rumor and was wondering about it - thought I might ask here. On a whim, I submitted a story to F&SF in September and my rejection letter from Mr. Finlay was signed, "Best regards, Charlie". Then a little birdie told me that "getting a Charlie" is a thing (y...

So - I've never had anything published and consider myself a relative newbie to this whole writing life.
