Re: Quarter 1 Writers and Illustrators of the Future Vol. 37

Nothing yet, but I just got a bunch of random emails that made my heart flip-flop. You'd think I'd be used to this by now...

EDIT: Straight up rejection.

Re: Success!

My story, "Lavender Footsteps," was picked up for an acted out audiobook podcast that's starting up next month! It's a paying gig, which is kind of crazy, but they're also still looking for new short stories in the 6,000-9,000 word range, so I figured I'd post the link (it's a tweet with a...

Re: Success!

Congrats! Make sure you share it with us when it's out / out for pre-order! Thanks Andy! It's a little outside the realm of this board, but it is 'speculative' in a way. The anthology's theme is team-ups of Western historical characters who never actually met. We had to keep it realistic as to thei...

Update on my success story! The Colored Lens, Winter 2020 is out now and features my multiple-HM WoTF story, Project Lifeline . For some reason, I have top billing as well, which is fun. wotf007 You can get it here: The Colored Lens, Winter 2020 https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51aYP...

Re: Success!

Sci Fi Lampoon dug "My Ten Cents" and will be including it in issue 2. I will provide a link once I have one. I thought it fit their flash story requirements. Now that I know there is a list of Wulf approved publishers, I will submit only to those. But, it still is a good feeling to have ...

Another of my serial-HMs for WoTF has sold!

Project Lifeline will be in The Colored Lens' Winter 2020 issue (which I think is *this* winter, not next winter). It's a love story hidden in a somewhat deep dive sci-fi and I'm so happy it's found a home. wotf007

Not the usual success story, but, uh, I finished writing another novel today. Perfect timing since I didn't really want to write a bunch over the holiday. On to editing next week! Also, one of my HMs was accepted for an anthology. Can't talk too much about that one yet, though, but it's super exciti...

Hey Wulf, I made it in the 3 new, 1 canned category! :)

I'd offer to do a critique anyway, but I'm closing on a house in the next week and I'm a bit concerned I won't have the time to give it a thorough check.

We better be past it... but almost every female author I can think of in the genre uses their initials, which makes me think this is a hill that hasn't been taken yet. wotf020

Re: pseudonyms

I think it's pretty common for authors to use pseudonyms, regardless of the reasons. WoTF judge, David Wolverton, goes by David Farland as well, and his only reason was to allow for easier genre hopping.

If you think it'll be helpful, I say go for it. :)

Q4 Story Critique Exchange?

Hey there,

Would anyone be down for a story exchange for this quarter? I'm sitting on a ~9,000 story right now that I've edited it enough I'm blind to any other failings in the story.

I'm looking for 2-3 folks to swap with if anyone needs another set of eyes on their stuff. wotf007
