Lately the results for the last quarter aren't coming out until a few weeks after the beginning of the following quarter. It's going to be awhile.

Re: Quarter 2 Writers and Illustrators of the Future Vol 36

wotf057 Awesome. Didn't Preston move from SF to finalist because of an opening? And then won? I think he did, but I'm not holding out for that. wotf001 I'm just happy to have broken that HM barrier. I've been experimenting more and my last three R's came in the last four quarters. It's been a rough...

Re: Five Minute Rant

Hmm, No one seems to use this anymore but me. Don't get me wrong, I want to, but I'm taking a new approach to rejections and it's helping. When a story comes in, I immediately turn it around and send it to another market. Whenever I get a query rejection for my novel, I pick another agent and send ...

It really does, especially since I love that story.

And I'm really happy with the title. Our very own RSchibler came up with the first iteration during a story swap last year and I fell in love with it.

Re: Success!

I completely forgot to post here, but my serial-HM story to WoTF, Lavender Footsteps , is in The Colored Lens's Summer 2019 issue. It's also my first paid sale and I'm pretty stoked. If you have Kindle Unlimited, it's free to read, so give it a go! https://www.amazon.com/Colored-Lens-Summer-2019-ebo...

Ditto! Her story is by far my favorite I've read in any WoTF anthology.

Re: Story mentally plotted, but can't get it out

I only have one way to get out of it: write it all out anyway. Instead of closing the file in disgust, come back to it tomorrow and, without re-reading your previous work, just keep going. At the end, you'll have the story and, while it may be crap, it'll be crap you can now edit rather than crap th...

Watch the conjunction and . Pro rate + copies or hits. Rule 5, sentence 2: Professional publication is deemed to be payment of at least six cents per word, and at least 5,000 copies, or 5,000 hits. Re: Discussion: Q1 Volume 36

The real thing you want from F&SF--aside from an acceptance letter--is for the editor to write "Charlie" on your rejection. Look for that. When you get it, do "Dear Charlie" on your cover letters from there on out. It's been noted he only gives that to people he really wants...

Re: Moon's SUPER SECRET Bonus Challenge! Vol. 36

Hey folks. It looks like I'll be dropping out of this specific challenge (still in for 4 in 36!). I have an old HM that's recently gone through heavy revision and I think has a chance at winning. So... I'm going to pitch that in for Q2 especially since the story I was writing for Q2 won't be quite r...

Re: Discussion: Q1 Volume 36

A little pre-fretting here. Has the site had any trouble closing to submissions yearly this year? I am cutting it close, yet again, an worried. wotf018 There’s always some i...
