Re: Galaxy's Edge
For those who have submitted to Galaxy's Edge previously, did any of you receive a confirmation that your story was received? I did not, and based on activity in The Grinder, looks like most results come back within 12 days or so. My story's been out 14 days, and I just want to make sure Galaxy rec...

Re: critters.org Manuscript Notifications
When I saw this thread awhile ago, I went and joined Critters. I do now have a story available for critique, if anyone wants to read and critique it.
The story is titled, "As Mysterious as a Cat."
It's my Q1 reject, by the way.
Thanks!
Chris

Re: WilliamHawk
I was just about to make a suggestion along these lines -- In other forums I've seen where they find people who are active in the forum that they learn to trust and give them the power to delete inappropriate posts - etc. It takes a little leap of faith - but its worth it to avoid the spam. It could...

Where do you get your inspiration?
I saw this subject come up within another thread - on another subject and, a) I lost it, and b) figure it warrants it's own thread anyway.
So - when you're trying to come up with new stories - where do you get your ideas/inspiration?

Re: Almost Success - The "Mixed Feelings" Thread
Got a personal rejection from F&SF last night. That’s pretty delightful, for me. I got a form rejection from them a few months ago on a different story. I still want that first sale, of course, but like you guys said, this means I’m on the right track. Just keep writing, finishing, and submitti...

Submitting Honorable Mentions To Magazines
Would it be safe to assume getting an honorable mention increases the odds of getting that story published somewhere? Are there any publications you know of that seem to especially like stories that get an honorable mention? Thanks -

How Short Is Too Short?
Any thoughts on how short would be too short for the contest? Any one know of any really short stories that have won? Say, about 2,000-3,000 words?

Re: NEW USERS! INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!
Howdy: I'm Chris. I recently learned I got an Honorable Mention in the Q2 2017 contest! That's really got me stoked!! Someone in the Facebook Fantasy & Science Fiction Writers group suggested I join this group, so I did. I'm actually at work just now so can't hang out but I'm looking forward to ...
