Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - Volume 35

I more or less live my life in a state of nervous preoccupation, but March 1st + Thursday = extra twitches, no?
Or maybe it's just buckets of caffeine.

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - Volume 35

Maybe it's residual stress from Dave's blog post, but it feels like a Thursday to me. I've spent the day refreshing my inbox and expecting an 'R'.

Re: Four in Thirty-Five (4 in 35!)

I've finished my draft! 8000 words but it definitely needs to marinate. Too early for anyone else's eyes yet.

Re: Discussion - Q2 - Volume 35

My story has been outlined but now that it's time to write, I feel all out of sorts. What is a beginning? How do I do this? How have I done this before? Every single time I sit down to write something, I become convinced that I don't know how to write wotf019 Ah well. Enough procrastination. Here I ...

^midnight on the 31st, I meant. 12:00AM January 1st? So if someone had accidentally programmed it for 12:00AM the 31st it would have closed 24 hours early?

Ugh I'm confusing myself.

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - Volume 35

I tried to submit earlier today and the application portal already says it is closed. Oh no!! I remember scratching my head yesterday when I submitted, because the portal said it was open until 12:00AM on the 31st...when I thought should be 12PM. Maybe that was the error? In which case I bet Joni w...

Re: Four in Thirty-Five (4 in 35!)

When I teach watercolor, I tell my students what you leave out can be more important than what you put in. Too many new artists keep going back and working and reworking their paintings. At some point, they hit that one stroke too many point, and the painting is diminished, and if they can't stop t...

I know it's early in the quarter, but would any of my fellow 4-in-35ers be interested in a critique swap? I have a 6000-word draft that has gone through some revision, and would love some general feedback before I obsess over polishing.

I'm one scene away from finishing a first draft, and really feeling pressed for time. Normally, I take a while to edit (my last story went though 10 drafts.)
