Re: NEW USERS! INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!

Welcome! I think I remember your username from when I used to hang out at AW - yes? Believe I used "KateJJ" over there as it was before I'd settle on my author name. Galloping to the crossroads. Nice to see you again! I still occasionally visit AW but mostly just to flyby. Burned out on q...

Re: NEW USERS! INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!

Hi everyone! My name is Dylan Cary, but feel free to call me "Hey you" or "Who?" I'll answer to both, I swear. wotf019 I'm fairly new to the trying-to-get-published business, and I'm hoping to have my first submission to WotF in Q3 of this year. I'm also waiting to hear back on ...

Re: Acceptable level of violence for contest entry?

IWhat always worried me were the requirements around profanity. I actually stripped all the profanity out of my Q2 (and thought it weakened the story) but what I read later suggested that I might not have needed to do that. Darn it. It turns out I have 46 swear-words in my Q2 entry (out of 51 pages...

Re: Discussion - Q2 - Volume 35

I read mine back-to-front looking for typos and missing words. Was told by an editor that the latter is a fatal error. A text to speech program can help with spotting issues like that. Some word processors have them built in. Mine doesn't, so I use this one: https://www.naturalreaders.com/online/ V...
