Re: Discussion: Q1 Volume 36

In the podcast, Dave talks about still having 25 stories to choose his finalists from (which we know he finished judging beg of last week), so I think Tim and OSC were talking about Q4.

Ya that means that results for Q1 won't get back before tomorrow or Thursday at the earliest considering how many of those emails she has to send out today

I'll bring the brownies. Give me just a minute. I'm on my way.

And i'll bring a classic movie to watch while we twitch and stuff our gobs in anxiety. Any suggestions?

Re: Discussion: Q3 Volume 36

A good crime mystery in SFF is always fun to read!

I've got an idea for my Q3, but am not able to start writing it just yet. What with editing my novel and then finishing a novelette, I hope to get to it by mid May.

Re: Discussion: Q1 Volume 36

Considering the awards ceremony is Friday, I doubt we'll get results this week. With the WotF updates on Facebook, Joni seems really busy. Also, I'm amazed Dave got through the judging so quickly considering his health issues.

Re: Discussion: Q1 Volume 36

So is F&SF. I got the "story didn't quite win me over" rejection. What's nice about F&SF is that C.C. Finlay has different rejection letters depending on what part of the story doesn't work for him and he tends to personalize a lot of his rejections. In this case it means the endin...

I'll post this here. Kary told me she'll be finished with Q1 tonight. That means Dave has the cream of the crop and can finish his work now. The workshop starts March 31st. My guess is we'll see the first wave within a couple weeks, and hopefully the top tier before the workshop begins. That's an a...

I'm terrible at plotting or outlining on paper. I have all the big plot points worked out in my head and the rest usually develops as I'm writing. I find it to be more malleable this way. The one time I forced myself to outline, I abandoned the story halfway through

You have people that accepted this challenge that are finalists. One is a published finalist. Do you know how c...
