Re: Discussion: Q3 Volume 36

I only submitted one story I'd consider funny, and it was really more murder mystery with a wacky dose of satire. Earned me an honorable mention. Also, where do people draw the line between satire and comedy, or is there one? I adore Pratchett, and while I think his work is extremely funny, I also t...

Re: Discussion: Q2, Volume 36

Since the Q1 results needed extra time, perhaps Q2 will also take a while? I will try to practice patience. Sadly, it is not something I excel at.

I'm not sure I understand. What is the problem with posting details of our stories here so long as we submit them anonymously to the contest?

I love the topics mentioned. On a logistical note, I wish the podcast was on Sticher, where I listen to my podcasts in the car.

Re: 4 in 36

I'm a bit late to jump into this, but I'm in. I submitted stories for Q1 and Q2. Right now I have a draft for another story and a partially written additional story. There is no 'late to jump in' with this one, so long as you make the submissions on time. wotf011 Good to know. Thanks! Looking forwa...

Re: Discussion: Q2, Volume 36

I submitted a story I really liked a few weeks ago, but after listening to some of the podcasts and interviews, I'm starting to think it might have been too dark. Guess I'll just wait and see... I skirt the line of too dark with this contest a lot. wotf019 My SF and F were both on the dark side, th...

Re: Moon's SUPER SECRET Bonus Challenge! Vol. 36

Hi Moon - thanks for all this great advice. Trying to digest it all without getting overwhelmed. I have a few beta readers who are on a similar standing with myself or further along, and I love the idea of working with more successful writers, though I have generally found that most are too busy to ...

Re: Moon's SUPER SECRET Bonus Challenge! Vol. 36

I am loving this thread and all the great advice. Is it too late to join? I submitted new stories for Q1 and Q2, though my Q1 was rejected. Never too late, Brandie. Welcome. A lot of us received R's for our Q1. But does that stop us or slow us down? No, I say. We are warriors. wotf024 Thanks Dragon...

Re: NEW USERS! INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!

Hi all! I heard about the forum from Wulf Moon and thought I'd check it out. I've submitted a few times over the last two years and have received two honorable mentions. I generally love YA fantasy with elements of mythology or fairytales, and that influences a lot of my work.
