Re: Almost Success - The "Mixed Feelings" Thread

Got a rejection from DreamForge, but it was a long shot anyway due to the length. Not sure if this is a form rejection or whether it has a personal touch to it: Helge, Thank you for your patience while we reviewed your story “[redacted],” unfortunately, we're going to pass this time. There is good w...

Congratulations to all those who placed! For those who did not - don't base your whole value as a writer on the results of this contest. This is a market like any other, and your results are the judgment of one, maybe two, people. Don't base the entire value of your story, or your ability, on their...

A 2-day rejection from Asimov's wotf001 Well, it was a long shot - I wasn't sure it'd be a good fit. I'm finding myself running out of pro-markets in The Grinder. If you haven't already, I recommend you look into the five stages of grief and into complicated grief (disorder). Also, what is the father mourning the most, the past memories with his daughter or the future, imagined events, which now never will come true?

I'm in. The blessing of doing a story-a-week challenge is you accumulate a lot of properties quickly (I'm 11 weeks in and haven't missed a deadline yet). The curse of doing a story-a-week challenge is you write several that you think would be great to send to WotF...but then you have to wait 2 mont...

I scrapped my 532 words from the other day and started anew. I now got a 998 words flash I'm quite happy with.
