However, if you ask Alexa to play it, she plays similar music and there's stuff to be discovered that way as well. I listened to Two Steps f...

You could do what I did with my sci-fi novel, I made it to where through dialogue or something subtle make a small suggestion that they learned or have a universal translator implanted near their ears and then definitely show the reader later that they are definitely alien by using ancient Sanskrit,...

Rejected again. I won't be entering in the future. Please, don't give up. If that was the case, I would have given up of trying to be a writer since I first entered this contest when I was 13 years old. Through my sheer determination, I have driven on to become a writer. Yes, I too just got another...

Assignment: Brad Torgersen Discussion 1. At eighteen years old Brad decided to be a writer. Yippee! How many years did it take to make his first pro sale? How many rejections did he deal with? 17 years..I think it's good people don't fear away from rejections. I think it should give them more determ...

My Q3 submission (Magician's Midlife Crisis) was just accepted by SciF Lampoon magazine. Woo! Hoo! It's not a paying market, but it's nice to find this story a home--especially one that will be released in print. This will be my third publication... and the crazy thing is that all three have been h...

Re: How to Get the Most From Critiques
Very nice post on this. I say the critiques we receive I think is very valuable and the people that review our story who are taking their time and energy to review our stories are very awesome people. Another thing I have noticed is sometimes it might be better to set the story aside for a while and...

Most definitely that each market one submits to is subjective to the editor. Why it's always best to research(Yes, I know it's time consuming, but in the long run, might be worth it for a potential sale).
