Re: Discussion: Q2 Volume 37

Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) wrote The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn in First Person. This allows the reader to experience the story through Huck's eyes and identify closely with the narrator. The story is told completely from Huck's perspective, and the MC refers to himself as "I" through...

WULF, I foresee a time when the number of entries becomes voluminous and overwhelming, and the obvious solution would be to employ a SECOND READER. Re: Wulf Moon's SUPER SECRETS Workshop & Challenge!

I have to send out a personal salute to all those writers who always get in under the wire. You definitely have a B-type personality; life ebbs and flows around you. Your lives are probably Indiana Jones "grabs hat at the last moment" scenarios. Personally, I can NEVER do this. With Type A...

I hope she is doing better.

Alex H, I read your post.

It's your writing craft, entirely your decision, and only you know whether something of yours should be submitted.

That said, personally, I believe it's better to go down swinging, than be called out on strikes.

Re: Discussion: Q3 Volume 37

Hi Some Reason, I offer an opinion. You have two goals; one short-term, the other long-term. The former is ready and available, hot off the press, and faces a deadline of midnight, June 30th. The latter is nebulous, up in the air, and isn't a final product. If the revised SHM wins, you'll gain notor...

Sure, Wulf, I'll give it a try. From The Screenwriter's Bible, Page 71, by David Trottier, "Other ways to create a little sympathy for your character is to give her a talent for what she does, and/or an endearing personal style in how she does it. Give her a moment alone to reveal her goodness....

Star Reacher, just a thought. Disclaimer: i don't hold a Ph.D. in Ping-Pong Dialogue, but, what if you save the two questions you pose at the beginning of your dialogue, and substitute them at the end? This way your BIG REVEAL is last and carries more punch.

This is off topic, but a science-fiction tidbit. For decades, I thought the lyrics of Elton John's ROCKET MAN bore uncanny resemblance to a story by Ray Bradbury in The Illustrated Man , coincidentally called "The Rocket Man" on Page 97 of the paperback. Never bothered to check, lol. Turns...

Pumpkin, hard to believe you live in the United Kingdom and haven't heard of the Dr. Who series which has run from November 1963. Last night, I rewatched the Dr. Who episode, 9th Doctor, FATHER'S DAY. Nice dialogue, Swift Potato! I'm betting all my chips on the red slot at the roulette wheel named SWIFT POTATO .
