Re: I'm looking for a specific type of fantasy novel.

Pretty much anything else from Neil Gaiman. American Gods or Good Omens or Neverwhere or Anansi Boys. I recommend all of them. A lot of his stuff is close to what I'm looking for, but it's usually about a protagonist getting drawn into a bunch of weird stuff and discovering that their regular world...

I'm looking for a specific type of fantasy novel.

I'm looking for any novels that I can about characters from the real world who somehow stumble into alternate fantasy worlds. Like, say, Chronicles of Narnia or Coraline, but I'm looking for novels for adults. Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: SUPERSTARS Writing Seminar

Not quite sure when I’ll be there tomorrow. My girlfriend’s parents’ house where I’m staying isn’t all that close and I may want to sleep in a bit. I might be at the welcome mixer but last year I fled from that event because my autistic ass couldn’t handle the crowd. Guess we’ll see. Oh yeah, and my...

Re: Wulf Moon's SUPER SECRET Bonus Challenge!

Okay, here’s another question. I have one story I really like but the speculative element appears a bit less than halfway in. Obviously that’s too late. So how blatant do you think the speculative element needs to be in those first couple pages? Can it just be strongly hinted at, or does it need to ...

Re: Wulf Moon's SUPER SECRET Bonus Challenge!

Ah man, that bit about the judges not liking first person...all my best stories that I want to submit are in first person. But secret number 39 is protect your voice, so that’s that. I guess the judges will be getting some first person stories from me.

Re: SUPERSTARS Writing Seminar

I'm an INFP according to the most recent test I've done, although that fits me in some ways more than others. Healer, sure; idealist...kind of. Anyway...filking is something to do with music, I gather? Anything that requires to me to do anything musical usually is going to have me hiding in the near...

Re: SUPERSTARS Writing Seminar

I’ve been signed up for a few months now. Gone the last two years. I’m ridiculously shy/socially anxious and don’t really talk to people much at these things, even though that’s half the point...but I did better with this last year than the first, and hope to improve further in this area for the nex...

Re: NEW USERS! INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!

Hmm, I'm Chezecaek, I live in Fort Collins Colorado. I used to fantasize about being a career writer but have since realized I just like television, video games (especially the video games), time with friends and getting drunk all too much for that to be a likely possibility. Not an IMpossibility ho...
