Re: Discussion: Q1 Volume 38
Thanks Mr. H, Blackink and Moon. And yes, Moon, I can definitely second what you said. Every year, wotf keeps on growing, in both contestants and the quality of the entries! Personally, I’d be perfectly content with an HM (though I secretly want to aim higher

Re: Discussion: Q1 Volume 38
Thanks, storysinger. I thought I had Volume 5 but on looking, it was 3. However, I found the story online: http://stobblehouse.com/arthome/stob/justdont.html I agree with Dustin - I can't see a winning story that short now. 350 words though? Maybe WriterGirl0426 has a chance! Thanks for the link, A...

Re: Success!
Hello everyone. I never thought I’d be able to post anything on this thread, since I've never had any major achievements in writing. But finally, I've got some good news to share! My 70k novel just got accepted at World Castle Publishing! It’s a small press, however, this is a very big milestone for...

Re: Discussion: Q2 Volume 38
And wow, I'm not the only one who writes drafts in screenplay mode and then converts it to prose? For some reason, that makes me feel kind of relieved! Not the only one at all. wotf007 I don't do it with every story, but it really helps me gain momentum if I'm getting stuck on details (which is esp...

Re: Discussion: Q2 Volume 38
I honestly have a glut of stories I want to sub to WotF; unless I get surprised by a sale, I already have the rest of my submissions year planned out. I probably won't be writing fresh shorts next year unless one grabs me by the lapels and mugs me in an alley. I've got other writing and artistic pr...

Re: Discussion: Q3 Volume 37
For those who are a bit down about their R’s. I’ve been writing for 17 years with 15 years of R’s. I’ve won two contests and a small press published a book of mine that sold about 50 copies. The publisher went out of business. I guess in these 17 years my biggest accomplishment has been that Charli...

Great job, everyone. We only call it an R here on the Forum. In the contest, it is a DNP (Did Not Place). In life, it is a try...congratulations. Google Docs actually has a way for you to convert into .docx format, at which point you can download it. :) I've done it recently, actually. Re: Quick question about file type for entry
Are PDF's acceptable? I tend to save all my work as PDF's when submitting as a way to lock in my formatting. I've asked Joni whether I should send in my submission in word or pdf, and she said "either one actually" But I'm starting to have second thoughts on submitting my Q3 entry in pdf ...
