Re: How do you write eloquently?

Post an example so we can see the problem better. This is a particularly bad case: They walked through the town in the dim afternoon light. Grass filled the cracks in the asphalt and spilt into windows and doorways. Old vehicles sank deep between dark nettles, and a bicycle plaited itself into the ...

Re: How do you write eloquently?

At the moment when I'm telling a story I feel like my sentences are thick bricks I'm chucking against windows, smashing them to get my point across. They aren't beautiful. A brick is a brick, I find myself relying on the same repetitive sentence structures over and over again as I write. I’ve never...

I wouldn’t worry too much, you still have twenty days to go! I find it helpful to set aside a block of time during the day specifically for writing, and your body just get used to it over time.

Retro, I have heard of it of course, I just never seen it. I want to say the best part of the show was a bit before my time, but honestly I just wasn’t a tv watching child and I haven’t heard many good things about it recently. Thank you for the recommendation, I’ll check it out

It does sound like a great idea but I’m not sure if I have enough ideas to write so many words in a day. I must start describing all the objects in my house, but I feel like I might run out of objects :D

Re: NEW USERS! INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!

Welcome aboard, Pumpkin! I've always been in the camp that until you've mastered the short story, you cannot master the novel. As Orson Scott Card says, a novel is just a series of short stories tied together. Win this contest, and you'll have the skills in place to write a successful novel, as so ...

Hello! I found WoFT through a google search and thought I could at least try. I’ve only started writing short stories because schools are closed, but I like it already. It’s a lot more... satisfying than the novel-length ones I could barely finish. I just have two small questions. I live in England,...
