Re: HM and SHM Crit Exchange?

I want to improve my story without damaging its integrity, or the aspects that earned it SHM. If you feel the same way about your HM or SHM story, would you like to exchange crits? If you would like another set of eyes, I'll be happy to take a look. My turnaround time is pretty quick. As for an exc...

Re: What have you done when the words no longer flowed onto the page?

I don't know if it is writers block, but two weeks ago the words just stopped flowing. When I am in the zone it flows like water. Now, no matter what I try to write, it doesn't come to me. The words are forced and hollow, without voice. Has this ever happened to you? What have you done to overcome ...

Re: NEW USERS! INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!

Impressive resume AE. I enjoy seeing new members with both short and storied submission histories. Thanks. When writing about myself, I tend to keep things brief. They'll be plenty of time for me to drone on about other stuff in the future. Welcome to the forum AE. Your results are quite impressive...

Re: Discussion: Q2 Volume 37

HM in my inbox. wotf007 Each story is an arrow. Every quarter is a new round to discover the finalists for the competition. Keep aiming precisely on that bullseye. Don't look at the competitors standing around you. Nock your arrow, shut the world out, sight down the spine to the bullseye...and pull ...

Re: Discussion: Q2 Volume 37

Yup, luckily my story isn't 80 pages long. So, I like to think (hope) my story was the one that woke him. :) Mine isn't 80 pages, either, but then I realized he might have fudged on the length to throw the author off if they read his newsletter. Yeah, most likely as to not peg anyone. However 80 pa...

Re: Discussion: Q2 Volume 37

Has anyone, perchance, read Dave's newest newsletter and also felt that curious sickening that washed over me when I read about "Deadly Writing Sins"? Immediately, I squirmed. Did I confuse Dave? Bore him? Yup, luckily my story isn't 80 pages long. So, I like to think (hope) my story was ...

Re: NEW USERS! INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!

Dropping in to say hello. "Hello." Been entering WotF every quarter for the past few years and have been hyper-checking the boards when result times draw near. I've collected a few Rs, a fair share of HMs, and a couple of SHMs. I've tried joining a few times in the past, but my bull-headed...
