Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

I've been wondering about sending in old stories with some spit and polish. I don't know if I would, but I might have one or two that I could rework extensively and try again with. Not sure it's allowed though...

Sorry, I can't answer your question. Thanks all for the answers on mine. I had no thought of cutting the words, just on whether to submit it here. I think I will. Good luck to all. wotf049 wotf047 wotf049 wotf047 wotf049 wotf047 wotf049 wotf047 wotf049 wotf047 wotf049 wotf047 wotf049 wotf047

Non-human narrator watching human sex - well, trying to stop it, to comic effect. :)

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

Just to take our minds off this current wave of doom, I have a question some of you may be able to help me with. :) I'm tweaking a possible Q2 entry. It has two vital but discrete sex scenes, in one of which I do, just once, use the word "p***s." (Ho hum - I feel so dumb blanking it out, b...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

Suddenly puts a word between the reader and the sudden action. It is often more sudden to just say what happens than to suddenly use suddenly.

Re: Q1 Volume 29

In!! Just submitted electronically! Wow - that's a relief. I hadn't believed I could do it, despite setting aside the time tonight for final tweaks and edits. Now to wait. Funfunfun. This is probably my sixth or seventh entry and I always get ludicrously excited. Hee hee. Happy New Year, and good lu...

Re: Success!

Well done to the novelists. Yeehah!

Hey Patty - I just saw you on the TOC for the Anywhere But Earth antho. I have a story there, too. It was accepted months and months ago - seems like I've been waiting forever - and there is still near on a year until it's published.

Re: Success!

Thanks Dave and Prisoner.

Yeah, I've liked most so far, Today's one about George washington went right over my head, though.

My story wasn't flash BTW. In fact I wrote it with WOTF in mind. It's a 5.5K fantasy. DSF will be using it as one of their Friday stories, I imagine.

Re: Success!

My Q2 story has just been accepted by Daily Science Fiction. SFWA doesn't count them as pro yet, but the payrate is 8 cents pw which counts as pro for me. :)

Forum problems?

Over at the sffnet forums, Brad Torgerson and K D Wentworth say they are unable to log in to these forums. I think some people may be finding it hard to log in or to tell anyone they are having problems.

Thanks, prisoner. In terms of it being hard sf - hmmm. No, this is fantasy set on a spaceship, I suppose, as the tech is pretty implausible. It didn't have FTL though. It is set on a large ship where all the characters have forgotten where it is going or why. It is not a pro market, it has to be sai...

Congrats to Steffenwolf, emery, alastair and all who I've forgotten in my trawl through this thread. I have two stories out at the moment, one a small but pro sale. "The Door" is up for a few more days at Flash Fiction Online. The other is "Wielding The Knife," not at all a pro s...
