Re: Jibber Jabber - Q3 - Volume 34

Just keeps getting bigger and bigger: David Farland said Ugh. So I'm wrapping up judging on the largest quarter of Writers of the Future ever, then go to check out quarter three, only to find that there are 15 percent more entries than ever! Stop entering, people. I don't need the extra competition....

Re: Revised Honorable Mentions

There is no restriction on resubmitting the same story the following or subsequent quarters

True. But a Semi-Finalist or Finalist cannot be re-subbed, as the judge will have given you a crit. Silver HMs and below, but it's not generally advised.

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q3 - Volume 34

Last visit was: Tue Jun 14, 2016 2:31 am - It is currently Sun Apr 23, 2017 11:28 am Really? It's been that long since I logged in? I think it's probably been that long since I even visited. That was, in fact, about three weeks before the big move to the UK. And I was sooooooo busy then packing and...

I love stories like that. It reminds us that a rejection doesn't necessarily mean it's bad writing.

Re: Success!

December was amazing. I received a HM in WotF (went down to the wire with that one), sold four stories and had two reprints. (and I have two more currently on hold) Holland: 1944, my V30Q3 rejection which then sold to Galaxy's Edge (without changing a word) was reprinted in 'The Best of Galaxy's Edg...

The Grinder vs. Duotrope

Here's something I've been wondering about recently. When Duotrope became subscription only, one of the statements made was that with paying customers they expected to see an improved data accuracy, and fewer outliers. Perhaps Duotrope now has a higher percentage of (not sure how to phrase this lol)...

Really pleased my latest publication was mentioned here: http://www.antisf.com.au/flashview/1478-flashviews-197 Standout stories I've read in the past couple of months or so that have impressed themselves on me for one reason or another. Novel: The Back of The Back of Beyond by Edwina Harvey Short S...

Getting Ahead.

A long post this one, and certainly NOT a criticism of the contest and its judges. ____________________________________________________________________ I’ve done well with my writing over the past 5 years. I’ve made twenty sales, most at Semi-pro to Pro markets. I’ve been nominated for five awards. ...

Thomas, this is a fantastic sale. Well done, and Congrats!

I think I've kept up with everyone else. Apart from the Quarter threads, this is one of the few I visit - because I find it inspiring, and I love sharing in the success of (forum) friends.
