Re: Tout your Kindle and E-Publishing!
Well, here's my meager contribution to the world of e-publishing. http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/168/hourcoversmall.jpg http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007V8R1PG/ It's an apocalyptic thing, with sex and drugs and violence but it has heart , damn it. Anyway, be kind, this is my first try, I'm still lea...

Re: Sci-Fi and Fantasy Books You Enjoy?
I used to read SF extensively, but I ran out of Asimov, Clarke, Heinlein, and Pohl, the authors I started reading in my teens and who lasted into my mid-twenties. I just haven't been able to get on board with many modern writers. I don't know if I grew out of SF, or if there was a nostalgia componen...

Re: Sci-Fi and Fantasy Books You Enjoy?
Has anyone else found that the more they write science fiction, the less they want to read it? I'm almost exclusively onto non-fiction, mostly biographies and history, though I did just buy Bacigalupi's The Windup Girl , just to keep myself up to date of the goings-on in the SF scene today. I'm not ...

Re: Success!
I have a story in Daily Flash 2011, an anthology from Pill Hill Press. It's a for-the-love antho, but it was only a 400 word story and took me about a minute to write. Plus it's my first story to come out in book form. http://www.pillhillpress.com/books.html Also congrats to Dave. Bull Spec is an ex...

Prisoner, I had one story at a market for 8 months, before they accepted it(and I had to query), and it was just published this month, after a total of about 20 months, from submission to publication, and I just gave copies to my parents, brothers, friends, and aunt. And, even though they never sent...

Yay Wimmer :) And yeah, a spreadsheet or database makes things so much easier (at least for the obsessive types like me). Thanks. Though they did mispell my name.(Goes and curls up into a crying ball in the corner and curses the universe!) :x   Though they did mispell Asimov's name once, ...

Nice job. Write, submit, get published. Now how hard was that? :) Prisoner You're right. I guess it's not such a big deal. No need to overthink it. I think sometimes I argue with you guys to convince myself that you're right. Plus, seeing one of my stories in print(or online) always lights the fire...

Good job! I submitted to them (only poems, though) and I never heard anything. That was two years ago...I guess that's a rejection, then. I originally submitted this story in December 08. Eight months for the acceptance. They can be slow but it's been a good experience. Plus it's my first story tha...

Congrats, David and izanobu. I've been submitting to Alienskin for a couple of years with no bites. That's a good market, especially for flash. It's cool to see people from the forums making such strides in their writing careers, what with Brad and Alastair selling to Analog. Gives me some hope for ...

Also to Emery and David and Jeanne and everyone else. Didn't mean to leave anyone out. Also, on a side note, I just watched parts of the awards ceremony video. That must have been crazy, Emery and Jordan. Definitely made the contest seem more real to me, that winning would mean actually going to LA ...
