Re: Tout your Kindle and E-Publishing!

People are beginning to announce their awards-eligible publication lists, so I'm doing my best to get the word out about my December 2012 finalist, "Nootropic Software Blues," which was published in 2014. Read the story online here. If you enjoy it, please consider a pay-what-you-wish tip ...

MS Swap: Q4 '14 Entry (3K)

If anyone wants to trade potential Q4 entries, shoot me an email at alexkanefiction@gmail.com. I'd prefer takers have fairly short manuscripts (6K or less?), as I am juggling quite a number of projects at the moment, but if we've traded critiques before don't sweat the length too much. Just looking ...

Congratulations, everybody! Lot of big milestones happening around here. Re: WorldCon Roll Call

Yeah, the way I recall it Tom and I were already hanging out the afternoon of the Hugos, and we got to the line maybe an hour before the ceremony was supposed to start, and yes, there were whole floors, whole hallways, whole staircases filled with people in line in front of us. I'd say loiter around...

Re: Recommended Smart Action/Sci-Fi Novels

Arctic Rising by Tobias S. Buckell, Old Man's War by John Scalzi, and Amped by Daniel H. Wilson are some recent favorites of mine. I think you'd probably love them. Big ideas, fast pace, heavy on the action. Check 'em out.

Re: WorldCon Roll Call

It's amazing the cool, random things that'll happen. Tom, Annie, and I were hanging out in the hallway at a table, just talking and killing time. Ken Liu dropped by and chatted, and then after he left some guy I'd never seen before walked over and said hello, then sat down with us. Talked for maybe ...

I saw those from a post Brad made on FB. Given Mike's previous statements about slush piles, I doubt he'll be opening up Galaxy's Edge. After all these years, he knows enough people to just ask for stories. I could be wrong, and do hope I'm wrong, but that would be my take on it. Brad might enlight...
