It seems like my natural length is 2k-3k words, which is far too short for the contest. I think it was mentioned somewhere that K.D.'s winning story was only around 2-3k. I know in recent volumes the tendency has been to long stories, but a well-written story is a well-written story. Length shouldn...

While I really love King's On Writing, I never liked the part where he said your desk should be off in a corner. One of the main reasons I transferred to Colorado last January was to have that cabin in the mountains, surrounded by trees. Sure I have to schlep down to Denver every day for the day job...
