Re: Success!

So I've kept this secret for a while until the TOC would come out, but now I think it's ok to announce after heavy hinting on Facebook. I sold a story to Galaxy's Edge, edited by Mike Resnick. It's titled "Today I Am Nobody" and will appear in the May issue. I'll try to remember to post a...

Re: Penumbra Submissions

Well, Penbumbra didn't think my story for their "Lost" theme was a good fit. Oh well. I kind of already suspected that. The good news is, I just finished a new story for their "ocean" issue and I'm really happy with it. Hoping to enter early and increase my chances of acceptance...

Re: Success!

By the way, I keep seeing reference to the 15th for the Penumbra Space Opera issue deadline, but their submissions page lists the 31st, which is in keeping with how the calls have run in the past. Do we know where the 15th came from? (EDITED) Actually, I see they actually have two different dates l...

I haven't gotten through the second anthology yet, but I'm just not feeling it. I'm only a few stories in though. Which was your favorite from the second? Now I have to think back--A few pop into my mind right off. Resnick's story, "Catastrophe Baker" I think, was a lot of fun. I also enj...

You might check out The New Space Opera anthology, which has 18 space opera short stories. Also there's The New Space Opera 2 , which has 19 stories. My favorite of these is Dan Simmons' " Muse of Fire " which appears in the first anthology. I concur with Krystal's picks, and Dan Simmons'...

Re: Five Minute Rant

My longest submission was 317 days and was by mail to Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine. I received a form rejection in the mail. I expected at least a note of apology, but got nothing. Has that stopped me from submitting there again? No. Why? There aren't that many pro-paying markets for mystery ...
