Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

Kidlet's MRI came out normal. This rules out the scary stuff for now. We're still trying to figure out the underlying stomach issue, but the good MRI means we're down to garden-variety stuff like an ulcer or food allergy. Thanks for all of the good wishes, everyone. :) That's great news Kary, I'm g...

Re: Success!

Thought I'd share some good news. In the past couple of days I've had two stories picked up for publication. "Poultry" will appear in the February 2013 issue of Twisted Dreams Magazine, and "Illegal" written with Pete Aldin will appear in the August 2012 issue of Andromeda Space...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

This is what makes every quarter so fascinating! We have new rejectomancy and duotropery to ponder and no quarter is exactly like the previous. The "hold" category is interesting. So, there could still be HMs coming out of that pile I imagine, but I'm hoping for all the forum goers that it...

Anyway, it's even better when they have the "brag box" feature turned on. Hey! If the "brag box" is good enough for Brad Freakin' Torgersen and Ken Freakin' Liu, who am I to tell it no? wotf013 True, but they use it when they know they're being published! Of course, you may be r...

Someone's reporting an acceptance? I don't believe that's possible... Yeah, I find that hard to believe at this point that they'd know they were a top 3 finalist. Anyway, it's even better when they have the "brag box" feature turned on. Eh, if that's what they need to feel better about th...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

It seems that every quarter since they've implemented the e-subs has been different. In some quarters HM notifications lasted the entire time, and last quarter people were getting HMs fairly early on. Also, last quarter I know HMs were still going out even after I got my finalist call. This quarter ...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

113-day personal rejection from Writers of the Future Contest on April 21. An HM perhaps? Or just more erroneous duotroping? Personally, I only think of Semi's and Finalists as being personal reject worthy. Though, I've seen people putting results other than winners and published finalists as accep...

Hey everyone, luckily I've been free of rejectomancy and duotropery this past week (at a Kris and Dean workshop, and those typically devour all your time), but I'll add my commiserations for those who were taken out in that last round. But, I'm still in for Q1 as well. And if we're adding to the pil...
