Re: Five Minute Rant

I've got to vent so everyone can skip this if they wish.... So March 2 the reader and co-owner of the literary agency when I sent my book passed the full manuscript on to his agents with a recommendation that that rep me and the book. However the final call rests in their hands. Weeks of tension pas...

Re: Success!

I've just been sorting through some old mags in preparation for a much-needed clearing out. Came across an article on one of my favourite shows, Blake's 7. Apparently one of the producer/writers, Vere Lorimer used to get muddled between the two lead actresses whose names were Sally and Jan, but who...

I too have started sending to F&SF now that they take electronic.
I too have gotten a personal note on my rejection -- that is way cool
I particularly love the request to send more stuff. that's really rare.

Congrats, Bob! I love stories like that. It reminds us that a rejection doesn't necessarily mean it's bad writing. Re: Slush

WotF is the only market I have re-submitted a story to. (And of course never an SF or above) Joni actually encouraged it, so here it is far from being a bad thing.
That said, nothing changed.
As far as pro markets. in my limited opinion the rul is only re-submit if they *asked* for changes.

Not about my 'R', I've become very zen about those. Now it's about seeing how wrong I had been in the construction of my novel. I am curious whether Under Review means a reader has just been assigned to the piece, or if a reader is forwarding it to editorial for 2nd level reading. Could anyone shed any light into the editorial flow at Asimov's? Up until this year, Sheila had no reader. She read all her own slush. Now the ru...

I too have switched to under review.

This is a story that has gotten some good notes and editorial comments on its rejection so here's hoping for a wee bit better this go around.
