I think it'll be sooner rather than later. Cheers to all who are still hanging in there!

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q2 - Volume 34

And the results? Joni giggled. I got SECOND PLACE! *happy dance* If I understand correctly, that removes me as a contender for the Golden Pen, which means I can officially stop twitching and kick back until April. Woo-hoo! That's great! It's NOT too early to start figuring out your childcare plans...

O_O

I can't decide if I'm twitching more from waiting for placement results or for my twins to come.

Ultra congrats for both! Good luck! I'm wresting my writing back from the throes of baby-related sleep deprivation myself - it's not as easy as I'd hoped.

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q3 - Volume 34

Subbed, for the first time in a year. Not with the awesome story I got stuck writing halfway through, or the less awesome story I got incredible feedback that I can't execute on yet, but with something I've had and thought I couldn't use because [reasons]. I pulled it back out and addressed those re...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q3 - Volume 34

I have an amazing idea. Wrote the first scene and it's awful. But some brainstorming last night gave me an inspiration and I think I know how to rewrite it completely.

This will be my first entry in three quarters. Ready to get back in the game.

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q4 - Volume 33

I think KD got the news they were the published finalist around January this year, though the Q4 winners were also only announced in January, so they're well ahead of schedule here. Dunno why the sudden rush--our book was ready for the gala wotf017 February 2nd is when I got the call, but that was ...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q4 - Volume 33

On the other hand, for most of my WOTF entries, WOTF is the first and last place they go because there's a really really limited market for 12k-word secondary world fantasies...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

The "small announcement" is posted now. And somehow I feel this thread is the perfect place for such a wacky revelation. wotf004 Of course Gator is beginning to regret mentioning it, as she's starting to realize the full implications... https://ecaimansands.com/2016/06/09/a-small-announce...

Re: Story Titling

Honestly I doubt it makes that much of a difference. If it's exceptionally derivative ("The Starving Games", "The Boss of The Bracelets") you might get an eyeroll. I'm a fan of short titles if possible, one or two words that describe the story briefly. My last finalist I titled w...
