Re: Moon's SUPER SECRET Bonus Challenge! Vol. 36

Got my 250 here. Will post critiques on the 500s once I have time. (I did not like this cut. The effort to balance the bones of the story with the poetic prose needed to keep the theme killed my interest in the prose by the end.) # Cousin Coyote Meets Mother Torment, 250 word version Coyote slipped ...

Re: Multiple Entries From Same Login

I recently entered q2 of the contest. I subsequently entered q3 (this quarter) but I did not realise I needed to create a new login and new password for each quarterly entry. I logged in and entered using the same account as last quarter. I am now very concerned and eager to find out how this will ...

Re: Discussion: Q3 Volume 36

I'm feeling a little pitiful at the moment. I've plotted the story and started writing it weeks ago. I could get the first draft out in a day, maybe two, if I felt human-ish again. Surgery took more out of me than I expected. I am not throwing in the towel, but as the days drag on, I wonder if that...

I am, to say the least, a 30 year old with nothing more than a high school diploma wotf017 . As someone who has entered the contest multiple times with varying results, I...

Reposting with proper formatting. I initially forgot to drop the BBC in, and for some reason when I tried to edit it in later it just... wouldn't... work properly. Re: Moon's SUPER SECRET Bonus Challenge! Vol. 36

Word count after taking out title and such is 1001. Over the stated limit by two words would be a reject in WotF, and in some Flash competitions and pro zines. And it puts editors in a bad mood. They don't like it when people don't follow their guidelines. Even small infractions. Google Docs is lyi...

I thought it was interesting, because I was thinking about pro rates and looking at the prize payout for WOTF. Third place pays $500. Depending on how long your story is, that could either be a pro rate, or not. If your story is 10,000 words, that's only $0.05 per word, which isn't a pro rate payou...
