Re: WOTF simultaneous submissions

Nice strategy.

Re: WOTF simultaneous submissions

I've never thought that of either of them. The Submissions Grinder lists both as not accepting simsubs. I assume "no simsubs, no multisubs" as the default, to be honest, as it's such a commonly held position, and there's little to gain (a publication three months sooner than otherwise) an...

WOTF simultaneous submissions

Is it fair to say both Writers of the Future and Intergalactic Medicine Show accept simultaneous submissions? I don't see where it restricts simultaneous submissions on either submission page.

Re: Success!

Well I don't know why it's happening but it's still happening, Digital QuickFic has just accepted my Little Greel story. wotf008 I would also mention that two more of my stories are being held for final consideration in Binge-Watching Cure and New Myths -- but then many of my stories have been held...

Re: Submit, submit, submit

I greatly admire everyone's energy and productivity! In contrast to my profligacy. ;) I feel that I am such a wastrel of my free time, with energy reserves sufficient for reading (including stories by many of you) more than writing. Generally speaking (with the exception of the story I wrote with K...

Best Places To Submit? So That Agents Take Me Seriously?

MY GOAL: When I query agents about my manuscripts, I want to be taken seriously. I have a few stories published in small literary magazines, but I don't know if they carry much weight credibility-wise. I know if I win WOTF, then that'll carry serious weight. I know if I get published in Orson Scott ...

Re: Submit, submit, submit

My HM was the first chapter of my first novel. I wrote the story in 2013 and decided to rewrite the ending so the chapter ended as it began. If I never do anything else, just knowing Dave read my story gives me confidence I've never had before. After Penumbra closed I've only been subbing to WotF. ...

Re: Submit, submit, submit

I think my technical abilities favor short stories, while my creative impulses lean more toward novel writing. A frustrating situation. Ultimately I believe I will end up writing novels, I do have a second draft of a novel written that has been sitting on ice for two years, but first I wanted to ex...

Re: Submit, submit, submit

I got into short story writing because my novel had been rejected unseen about forty times and when I self-published I discovered, as most anonymous people do, that it was invisible in the market. Foolishly I assumed short story writing was similar to novel writing as an art and I reckoned I would ...

I wonder what would happen if a human drank a whole sauce pan of Psychlo kerbango. Any takers?

Nice strategies, fellas. Are you all primarily short story writers or do you also have novels circulating?

Long long long SF novels like Battlefield Earth

I'm looking for more seriously long SF novels to read. I'm talking bricks, people. Besides Dune and Battlefield Earth, what else is out there?

Bricks? No, maybe I'm looking for the cinder blocks of SF.

Re: NEW USERS! INTRODUCE YOURSELVES!

Hi. I found Writers of the Future through David Farland's newsletter. I made my first submission to the contest this quarter and I'm looking forward to making another next quarter. Nice to meet you.
