Does mentioning the contest in the writing tips count as a "peep"?

If so, PEEP.

Re: Discussion: Q4 Volume 35

The cure to twitching is writing new stories and sending them out to other markets. Soon, you'll have so many pans in the fire, it won't matter so much if this dish flops. You've got plenty more cooking! Ding! Order up! ~Moon~ This is so true. I’m working on a novel, always edit and turn around my ...

Re: Critique exchange for a 3600 word half completed story

2) A reviewer's job is to tell you what's not working for them in the story. Their job is NOT to tell you how to fix it -- that's your job. I once got a critique back on one of my stories, and the reviewer basically told me I needed to just rewrite the entire story from beginning to ending, and als...

I know I read for a number of you for Q3 without sending anything. Instead of emailing everyone individually, I'm just asking here if anyone has time to read a story for me and poke giant holes in it with your virtual swords. It's my Q3 rejection. PM me if anyone is willing and able to help me out. ...

Re: Almost Success - The "Mixed Feelings" Thread

I got my second personal rejection from F&SF this morning. It's nice that I'm getting closer, but as I near 50 rejections for 2018 (I know, still a n00b) the hamster wheel is starting to feel more like a treadmill every day. So close, but close don't cut it. wotf017 Onwards!

Re: Discussion: Q4 Volume 35

Well, I threw my hail mary. Baby girl came early Monday morning. I may or may not have written a few scenes in the hospital ;) but I finished editing a few minutes ago. I just sent the finished story in. I may have missed something stupid, I had no time for exchanges, BUT I FINISHED and 4/4 feels g...

Re: Discussion: Q1 Volume 36

I may miss Q1. I'm working hard on a novel I hope to have ready to query by next summer's conference season, and that's quite a deadline. I might send in one of my shorts that hasn't gone to WotF, but I doubt I'll write something new. I'm also terribly behind on my reading stack. Never enough hours ...

Re: Discussion: Q3 Volume 35

The only cure for twitching is more twitching. Submit enough stories to enough markers, you stop investing so much emotional energy in the individual submission.

Cure might be an exaggeration - more like a bandaid.

Re: Contest First Reader - Kary English!

Morgan, there was a thread on twitter about this a while ago - my understanding is that on some mobile readers, if you convert the file for reading on a kindle or a nook for instance, sometimes the file info becomes visible as part of file names or some such. On a desktop this wouldn't be an issue, ...

I'm still open to swaps though, up to the end of the quarter. Then I'm going to really dig into my newest novel and be in a different headspace for a while.

Is it considered a peep simply because the contest was mentioned?
Also that felt like an admonishment specifically to me about my story. I might be paranoid.

I don't watch TV or go to the movies much, so I had no idea this movie was coming out or even existed. wotf020 Should I trunk my story for 6 months or submit anyway?
