Re: Jibber Jabber - Q4 - Volume 34

I’m in the midst of completely rewriting mine, there’s plenty of time, right? I hope to have it finished before the wire, but we’ll see what happens. My children don’t always cooperate! Good luck to everyone still working on their submissions!

I am unprepared. Of course, at this rate, I might miss Q4 and go right to Q1. I'm still drowning in boxes so writing hasn't happened in a few days.

Started mixing up my Q4 submission this morning- the disparate storylines finally congealed. Let's hope it bakes into something good. I have almost a whole month to finish, more than enough time, right? It'll keep my mind off twitching about Q3.

Good evening. I'm sure you're all busy tomorrow and I wish you the very best traffic and weather! I'm in Nebraska and am so excited. After the great solar event, though, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in swapping me a story in exchange for reading over my query letter. I finished my n...

So, I moved my stuff into the nursery, but that will soon be occupied too. I think we may have missed your most obvious point. You said that your nursery is about to be occupied. That said, you might as well put in all away for the next five years. I have a reasonably sized house, but my kids’ have...

Drafting

I've noticed a lot of people talking about numbered drafts, or saving each edit under a different file name. Since I started writing, I've just kind of edited as I went, changing things piecemeal based on notes I made to myself while thinking about the story or with deliberate beginning-to-end and e...

I just assembled a desk today! (Worst Allen wrench I've ever worked with!) I now have my own writing space! Before this, I was relegated to the kitchen table or my husband's desktop, which I use for editing since it has three monitors. I have my desk tucked in a corner where I get lots of natural li...
