Sorry to hear, Chuck. Expected or not, rejections sting.

Re: Discussion: Q1 Volume 36

So! Monday is one of the more likely Thursdays. Maybe? Every weekday is Thursday, by those metrics. wotf019 I think I'm done stressing over it for the moment, myself. I can only twitch for so long before my mental muscles get tired. That's just me, though. It's certainly a possibility, so feel free...

Re: Discussion: Q3 Volume 36

Looking to get in this quarter for the first time. Do many of you try your hand at submitting your stories to pro-markets before submitting a story here (after rejection)? If I have a story that will suit the contest, it typically goes here first. But I have a few that are inappropriate for Writers...

Just finished Vol. 35 - Wulf, your story was a delight. I have a soft spot for dogs and you twanged my heartstrings beautifully. I’m also impressed how you made it relevant to contemporary issues without irrevocably dating it. I really enjoyed it. They’re all great stories. Life of the Party might b...

I'm in for Q1 and Q2, and I know what I'm writing for Q3 - I should have two stories to choose from. Editing my novel currently, but when I need a break I flip to brainstorming and researching and plotting for shorts.

Re: Story mentally plotted, but can't get it out

Thanks for the great advice all. I will see if doing some writing exercises like a character study help me sort it out. It is odd because I don't usually have any trouble getting the words out once I know the basic setup. I will try to just keep working on the story and see where it takes me.
