Re: Tout your Kindle and E-Publishing!

My apologies for the spammer that got through the screening process. Those spammers are always interesting because they are 95% likely to be real, live people. I hope someone is paying them well? For the effort it must take to actually go around signing up for forums and then posting those cookie-cu...

Re: Brad's in Analog AGAIN...

All kidding aside, though, I like to highlight Brad's successes because he was right where we are just three years ago. He's proof of what you can do from here if you set your mind to it. Yes, this. From 1992 to 2009 I had zero professional sales, over 120 rejections, and 870,000 unpublished words....

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

For those curious: Joni tells me that one of the existing judges volunteered to step in and step up, as soon as Kathy's illness became severe enough to require it. This was probably a few months ago. I can't yet release who it is because this has not even been released to me yet, suffice it to say t...

Re: Brad's in Analog AGAIN...

This was the first year Kathy couldn't attend as instructor - Nina Kiriki Hoffman did it, alongside Tim Powers. I don't know details on why Kathy could not attend - obviously something came up. It happens. Needless to say I hope there will be no change in the judging in that regard any time soon. wo...

I'm the Chuck Norris of Science Fiction? I thought I was the Jack Burton of Science Fiction. wotf011 In seriousness, I hope Kathy's issues resolve and she can be back with the Contest week next year. As for being a coordinating judge, I would think they'd want that to go to someone who already has a...

Re: Success!

So I subbed a story ( So Sad, The Lighthouse Keeper ) to WoTF and it received a straight rejection. Then it was published in Anywhere But Earth in November, and my story has since received personal comments in a couple of great reviews. Today, on the publishers website: http://www.coeurdelion.com.a...

Re: Cannot use images in signatures?

I see one image that works, one that does not. I suspect whatever site the broken image comes from, is down.

And yes, I was only discussing signature images. And I have not made up my mind yet.

Do. Not. Panic.

Spammers, eh? We've not had their type around here since I put the new filter on the user signup. Sounds like an actual, live person may have gotten on and forged an account. I'll get out and begin nuking. FYI, all any of you need to do to alert me to spam is send me a private message saying so, and...

Nice work!!! 168 is the magic number. (g)

In seriousness, that's very cool. Most people quit before they even hit 50 rejections.

PERSISTENCE = WINS.
