The other one can be Steve 2, but I've been here long enough not to be dubbed anything but "Steve".

Steve
The original, and the best (OK, except for , perhaps, the whole winning thing.... sigh)

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

OK, Congratulations Steve - but were are going to have to change your name. This as far too confusing for me. I keep thinking Ive won, and then I realise all the congratulations are for doppelganger Steve.

hmmm.

Steve ;)

I think it's cool that Neil Young of California got an HM.

Keep on Rockin' in the Free World, Neil.

It could also be a cautionary tale to editors.

Sometimes an extra word in a personalised rejection might make all the difference....

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

The rankings have changed over the years - didn't HM once mean the equivalent of current standing of SF? My understanding is that Finalists and Semi-Finalists have always existed. Certainly well before the time period here. At one point, they also had quarter-finalists - which was then changed to H...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

Whilst trawling the net, in search of WoTF something, I'm not exactly what, I found this as a comment in a blog. It's just a reminder that it all starts somewhere. Especially for those who didn't achieve the result they expected this quarter. Brad R. Torgersen says: February 13, 2008 at 12:55 am Jon...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

Steve, don't beat yourself up over that. I haven't officially lost yet and i'm already jealous of everyone who's been through this multiple times and just waiting their turn in the winners' circle. You can't help your feelings, just your actions, and I'm sure these folks wouldnt all be your friends...

Re: Jibber Jabber - Q1 - 29

You wanna know something? This is the first quarter I've actualy been really jealous of the finalists - almost annoyed at myself. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled for those of you who have made finalist, but I'm really annoyed I'm not on that list. Which, in a way, is really silly as I knew months a...

And now there's an actual report of a rejection on Duotrope. Somehow that makes it feel more real. They're coming... (and the finalists, too, of course). Refrehing Duotrope much? Steve :) Whomewhat? Firstly - he's only sworn off posting here. I'm sure he still comes to read. Maybe we need to set up a ...
