Re: Chicon 7

I am not on that panel (I'm on one with Brad on Sat), but I'll totally come to the panel and be around afterward on Thurs (I get into the Con around 5:30-6pm on Thurs).

My workshop section is at 10am on Friday, so 9am is better for me, too. I'll probably have to just drop by and say hello before running off, but it would be cool to put faces to names wotf008

You should have been here during our 115 degree days. The heat index was over 120.

Keep your plans flexible, too. You never know when you might want to hit up a panel but suddenly find yourself in a conversation with a bunch of cool people or invited out to lunch or something. Last Worldcon there were tons of panels I wanted to go to, but I actually ended up spending a lot of my t...

Re: Story in a Day Challenge

I owe a story to an anthology, so I'll do this. It's not sf/f but should be 4-6k words by the end.

My program schedule got a bit messed up (double scheduling some things, etc), so I don't know my exact panels yet. I'll do a blog post when I do. I hope I get to stay on the panel I was on with Brad. That one would be a hoot.

Plus I've found even if you do work really hard to get the science and numbers right, there will still be readers who think you are wrong. I choose not to worry about and just do the mathy bits and science that I need for the story, knowing that someone out there will think I'm wrong. wotf008 There ...

Re: Cover Workshop

I would say wait and make it a full collection. The more stories you have in it, the higher you can price it, which means fewer copies need to be sold to earn back what you spent on the cover.

Alex- I preferred the one with the slightly bluish/grey in your 8:49 post. Not a big fan of the green lettering, personally.

Make the text white? (I like the placement and fonts, I think). Also, maybe a pop of color? (His eyes?)

I'd go for a collection (you can price it higher!)

I got my result today. HM. Just as I suspected (and actually, worse than this story did last time, it was a Silver HM when KD was judging).

Good luck in your future everyone.
