Watching the WOTF awards show

Postby gower21 » Sat Apr 14, 2012 6:27 pm

I'm not really watching right now, but I thought we should have a thread to post all our awards show thoughts and a place the winner can come and tell us about the big stage moment.

I brought popcorn!
I brought chocolate!
I brought soda!
I brought carrots for all the health nuts!
(I got a tank of gold fish for the Gator and some alfalfa for the Donkey)!
I'm trying to psychically (sp?) reach Kary and tell her to post information about the awards!

I'm wondering when the awards even are (tomorrow, right?)?

Come and post your thoughts and musing while watching the WOTF awards show. We can all tell our friends "we knew them when."

The awards are 6 p.m. Sunday the 15th, Pacific Daylight Time.

I'm still trying to decide if I can watch them or not. That's 9 p.m. my time, and I don't have a fast enough internet connection at home. I would have to drive to my nephew's, and I would probably have to spend the night, since it will run pretty late.

Was there a tie or something in Vol 28? There should be 12 winners in each category, right - 12 illustrators and 12 writers?

I ask because on the dress rehearsal that's being broadcast atm, one of the graphics said "13" winners... Maybe they're counting a published finalist?

ETA: Well, it *was* being broadcast. Shortly after I posted, the feed went black. Maybe they didn't know they were streaming?

I believe there is a published finalist this time.... And yes, that would be the 13th.

I might not be able to watch in live either (date with my computer and a couple thousand words) but we can all use this thread to pretend we are all watching it together!

I got bean bags too!

13 is a very lucky number...just as long as there are not 13 seated at a table. We have weird contradictory superstitions in our family. The year I win there will need to be a nice even number.

I won't be watching live; it begins at 3 AM for me. Last year I watched online, after the fact.

I'm headin' for the railway station,
Ticket for my destination,
On a tour to LA-land,
My suitcase and laptop in hand,

I'm WOTF-ward bound...

I will post updates as I can.

Dustin,

Hatrack and WOTF forum are getting a shout out as a whole...it's so hard to remember everyone I need to thank that I'm definitely going to miss someone (I hope I don't miss my wife in the terror of the moment).

Nick, you'll do great. Just smile and think about everyone in the audience in their underwear. wotf007

I'll be watching at work tonight. I have two monitors, so one will be work stuff and the other will be WotF.
