Hello to all here. Yes, I'm a newbie to the site, hoping to submit some work and receive both great and terrible reviews such that will promise the production of great work from me as time passes. I look forward to hearing from some of you, and hopefully with some insight for me as to how best to navigate this site for best effects.

Yours truly, Dayna, AKA Element26 and as the penname: Ironworker

wotf011

P.S. I'd like to submit some writing and enter the contest. How might I do that?

Hello and welcome! If you're in need of writing resources, I have a thread for that here.

As for how to submit your writing, I recommend reading the contest rules:

https://www.writersofthefuture.com/cont ... s-writers/

I also recommend using manuscript format for your story, with the caveats that a) Dave prefers italics to underscoring and b) you want to make sure your submission is anonymous before sending it in.
If a person offend you, and you are in doubt as to whether it was intentional or not, do not resort to extreme measures; simply watch your chance and hit him with a brick. ~ Mark Twain

Welcome Hannah, Simplify, Element 26, and Aaron! Good to have you here. Thanks for taking my advice and being Johnny on the Spot, Aaron. A note to all the new: there's still time to take my 3/4 challenge if you're feeling brave. Just go over to Moon's SUPER SECRET Bonus Challenge and say you are in. Aside from that, do post to the quarter you are entering, as most of the chatter happens there. Enjoy all the shared wisdom in the various topics, or post your own if you have a question. We're here to help!

All the beast,

Moon

Hello Mr. Torgersen! It's a pleasure to finally meet you!
The name's Mikko H. Kuch, a civil engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. I've been wanting to try my hand at the pen for quite some time so I finally put together my first short story and submitted it for the first quarter of 2019! I'm about to deploy on a mission out to the Middle East and I'm hoping to further develop the craft during my down time, however much I might have, haha!

Hello all,

I'm a professional content and copywriter whose finally scratching his fiction itch. Hopefully it's nothing contagious... for the editors, I mean.

I've sold (and edited) hundreds of articles (sports journalism, mostly), but never any secondary-world stories or futurist thrillers. I'm eager to join your esteemed ranks.

My favorite writing accolades are having interviewed two of the winningest World's Strongest Man champions for paid (e)print, and earning a small, meaningful, faculty-nominated prize in college for my super-niche research paper: "Jus ad Bellum throughout the Sioux Wars: Examining Major Breaches of Peace between the United States and the Sioux, 1854-1891." The latter was the first time seeing my words in a tangible magazine - all else is digital. (I'm 30-years-old, but finished my BA in PolySci in my late twenties.)

Doubt you want me to say more!

Thanks,
Dane

Glad I found this place. Everyone seems like a friendly sort. Thought I’d pop in and say hello.

Got my first piece submitted on New Year’s Eve for Q1. Nothing like handing in something just before a deadline.

And now another deadline looms. wotf018

Well, here I am, introducing myself. I submitted for Vol 35 Q4 and got my first rejection. Submitted a different story for Vol 36 Q1, but it was a bit of a desperation submission, so I don't have much hope on that one. But I am really going to be trying to submit every quarter this year. I just added like 1600 words in the middle of my story today to fix a problem, so I will be madly editing tomorrow and Sunday. Doubt I will be posting on the forums much, but thought I should at least say hi. =)

Hi all! I heard about the forum from Wulf Moon and thought I'd check it out. I've submitted a few times over the last two years and have received two honorable mentions. I generally love YA fantasy with elements of mythology or fairytales, and that influences a lot of my work.

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forum, but not to WotF. I have submitted in the past (and received an Honorable Mention), but then life happened. Listening to the Topanga Canyon story motivated me to start submitting again. (Which I just did for this quarter) :)
I'm a German expat living in Spain, with a love for fantasy, science-fiction and YA.

Cheers,
Helge

Hi,
My name is Nic; I write software code to pay the bills and sci-fi to continuously train my imagination. English is not my native language, so please bear with me if sometimes I say something goofy.
The first submission sent for Q2; hopefully, a new one will be ready for Q3.

Thanks for accepting me in your fellowship!
Pending: Q2/36.
