I've had family members get into horrible crashes, best friend diagnosed with cancer, important things breaking, toe stubbing, friend fights, weather changes when they weren't scheduled to happen, and favorite restaurants closing (to name a few). If results come today it would be doom for me. The best I could hope for is that results do come today and my entire submission got lost in the New Years Eve mail.

I'm going to be a terrible person and point out that most of those things happened to other people, Tina... People close to you, yes, but not you... In this situation, you may WANT to be the person who hears about other people getting bad news but not you...

Dave's Daily kick is about writing contests and he announced he has been invited to be the coordinating judge.
Perhaps now he'll be returning the kicks to our collective pants soon...

Nobody is immune to their evil counterparts! I know, the luck has nothing to do with being directed at me. I have several that were directed at me, but I didn't have room to post them and I usually get more upset at things that happen to other people.

I'm pretty neurotic about May 29th...

That'd be awesome! To have this be the year it all turns around. My precious.... Get off Smeagol! That ring is mine! You can have it back when I shove it into the burning fires at the WOTF awards ceremony.

That'd be cool! Because if you're there then it means you won too! So I guess that confirms today will not be an announcement day if I'm destined to win first place.

Smeagol's a sneak! wotf013

And in case anyone wonders, there's a reason why Smeagol thinks Tina should get news today... Something about Smeagol and presents... What was the occasion for Smeagol's present again? Hmmm...

Yeah, I'd won third place for Q2. My family was oddly proud.

It could be an announcement day. Or maybe just a call-the-freaking-finalist-finally!-day.

Maybe they won't. Maybe they never will. Maybe my story will be in limbo forever. I'm up against a deadline for tomorrow... if it's not today, I have to send a story that isn't quite as appropriate for the theme. I'm wondering if I shouldn't bother waiting. wotf005 It doesn't look like today, does it? (She opens a quart of Americone Dream and dives in with a spoon in each hand)

I'm thinking Thursday. Because results come out on Thursdays and Joni told people this month sometimes, and of course the last day of the month is a Thursday. wotf018

What a complete serendipitous opportunity to have results come out on WOTF's favorite day (A Thursday).
