FYI - 100 more views on this thread and we break 200,000. At this rate, we should hit a million somewhere around V36 or so.

Did someone say math?

Using Taylor series, if:

e^x = 1 + x + (x^2)/2! + (x^3)/3! + ... + (x^n)/n!

sin x = x - (x^3)/3! + (x^5)/5! - (x^7)/7!+ ...

cos x = 1 - (x^2)/2!+(x^4)/4!-(x^6)/6!+ ...

and if:

i = sqrt (-1)

Then:

e^(ix) = 1 + ix -(x^2)/2! -(ix^3)/3! + (x^4)/4! + ...

Which equals:

[1 - (x^2)/2! + (x^4)/4!-(x^6)/6!+ ... ] + i*[x - (x^3)/3!+(x^5)/5!-(x^7)/7!+...]

Therefore:

e^(ix) = cos x + isin x

So e^(i*pi) = -1

Hmmm... No replies? Just me here, all by my lonesome?

Hmmm...

Lonely, I'm Mr. Lonely,
I have nobody for my own.
I'm so lonely, I'm Mr. Lonely,
Wish I had someone to call on the phone.
I'm a soldier, a lonely soldier,
Away from home through no wish of my own.
That's why I'm lonely, I'm Mr. Lonely,
I wish that I could go back home.

Letters. Never a letter.
I get no letters in the mail.
I've been forgotten, yeah, forgotten.
Oh how I wonder how is it I failed.
I'm a soldier. A lonely soldier,
Away from home through no wish of my own.
That's why I'm lonely. I'm Mr. Lonely.
