I just have a twitch in my left eye. Martin won't abandon me, right? RIGHT? This whole quarter has made me feel like King Priam's daughter, Cassandra. She was insane too.

I won't be abandoning you; but since I know you're fond of round numbers, it might feel that way if I decide to hold off my 2,000th post for a worthy occasion... like celebrating announcements at last.

But yes, there it is, I've decided: I shall stop at 1,999 posts. I will not make my 2,000th until we have Q1 announcements.

While I'm sure you'll all enjoy the peace and quiet, I'm still hoping my silence is short-lived.

ACK! We must now have announcements ASAP. I will be sad if I don't see the bunny-slippered spaceman!

I can live with this decision. We'll throw you a huge "2000 posts" party wotf011

The odd number will bother me, so for my sake, I hope results come in really, really soon. *twitch* *twitch*

Unfortunately he's torturing me, but it's a good reason to fall silent. I've been hoping someone would do a sit in and I guess this is the closest we will come to that. WOTF seems to like Martin, so he's taking one for all of us. Thank you Martin! Your sacrifice will not go unnoticed....but do you realize who that leaves in charge?

That's right, folks -- PARTY!!! Psst, I think the gatekeeper just left!!

Bring the beer around back.

The cake goes on the counter. Jeannette don't you dare stick your finger in the icing.

Hang the streamers.

Who left these pink bunny slippers and space helmet in the middle of the living room?

EVERYTHING must be perfect for when we get announcements.

I actually use trinary for everything, so Martin's next post will only be his 54th. wotf015

(Please ignore that his current post number is 10201% impossible in my chosen number system. You think this is complicated--how do you think I feel when it comes time to give people my address? That has 6s and 7s and 5s in it. wotf014 )

For anyone who is a Martin fan. You can now see he is making chicken-crossing-road jokes on Facebook. I gave it about 20 minutes and then went over and checked there. I knew he'd need an outlet.

ETA: He now tells me I got the quote wrong. It's from *M*A*S*H* and it involves a rubber chicken and a tea pot.

ETAA: I think he may have found a way to communicate... I totally fell for it.

I'm glad hold pile news is going out. I knew they'd have to unclog that before they could filter out the last spots for finalists. I guess when we see Semi-finalist notifications then we'll know. Paper-subbers will most likely get notification in the mail or see it on the blog announcement.
