So my friend at the con with Dave said he told her he's now finished the final batch of Q2 and thought notices should have been going out this past week (but who knows what Joni's schedule is like). So, like I said, it's not over until it's over. : )

Best of success to those still waiting to hear!

Cheers,

Aha, so when Dave said on FB a while ago that he had completed Q2...he was wrong! I bet he didn't know about the Submission glitch on that final day.

So, for those still waiting... It's coming!

Congrats Triseult! Nice job. I also saw another post of Facebook from a semi (unless you are Ken Hoover... sorry, I don't know your real name).

Hopefully, the rest of us hear something soon. wotf004

Apparently scammers are now making robocalls to compile call lists they then sell to customers. When the number dialed is answered it's added to the list. I've been on a do not call list since 2011 so this method doesn't seem to have to obey that law. wotf004
As a last day subber I am quite nervous seeing numbers I don't recognize. So of course in the last three weeks I've gotten 4 calls from California.[TWITCH] Those have to be answered for obvious reasons. One of the calls was from LA. What are the chances of that happening. wotf017

Dancing conga rats for you, Triseult! Kevin J. Anderson told me at an award's ceremony once upon a time that it's no small thing to get an HM from WOTF, so getting a semi is even better. Good job, it means you are writing professionally, and with a little tweeking it could have won. : ) I trust you'll use the critique to polish it and send it to another market right way.

The rest of us waiting will probably get our news this week, so it's going to be a Thurweek.

Keep writing, keep sending. And best of success to those still waiting for news, there is good news still out there.

Cheerios,

~Moon~

Chances are quite good. I let them go to voicemail, even if from LA. I can always call Joni back.

Has anyone who subbed to Joni personally, i.e. not through the system because it closed early - received an e-mail from her telling them of their fate?

I fear a R, but hope for an HM.

So I'm hanging out in NNiNN at the moment, but am ready to query to put this quarter to rest.

Nothing here. Still thinking my entry is lost, but the last couple days, I've been daydreaming about reading the winners list, and my name is there, without me ever hearing I was a finalist.

It's a strong story (HM rewrite), but I don't know if its THAT good. Better go dream about my next story instead. That's at least useful.

I haven't heard either. And I'm actually having a similar robo call problem. Interestingly enough, I wasn't getting them before this wait, now I'm getting them all the time. This is actually my favorite story I've ever written, and I have yet to receive an R (so far 3 for 3 HMs). So I really hope it's not an R. But the longer the wait, the more I fear that may be the case.

Just got a reply to my query!

I'm not finding your last name or the title of your story in any files on the computer. Did you send it via e-mail perhaps? I print those off, but I wanted to check with you first.

Guess my query wasn't detailed enough, so I'm still in NNINN. Still, good to know that she's working on the emails!

Edit: Well, that was quick. I didn't place.

On to the next market!

I finally emailed Joni yesterday but haven't heard anything yet. When the portal closed she sent me an email confirming my entry so hoping to hear something soon.
Better luck next quarter Lou. At least this round of anxiety is over for you.

Just received my R from Joni. Full message:

Dear Randy,

Sorry for the delay. Your story did not place for the 2nd quarter.

But I am happy to tell you that I finally sent out your certificate for your 4th quarter yesterday!!!!!

Do you have anything submitted for the 3rd or 4th quarter? You will not have much of a wait time-wise on those.

Best,
